This is a great day hike if you can stay at Granite Park Chalet for 2 nights. The hike is about 10 miles round trip from the chalet. Those who are in excellent physical condition can do this hike from Logan Pass or "The Loop".
I was lucky to hook up with a group of "locals" who had decades of experience hiking in Glacier Park. They knew this hike really well. Several of the women were geologists. Their knowledge and experience was really a plus for me.
