Something that is just so wonderful to me is how you drop stuff, knock things over, have stuff fall on you, and you just keep going. You stay calm, rather than get frustrated. Not a lot of people grew up with people like you as a parent, and it's so comforting to watch for some reason

I found when I made my kids responsible for things - yes sometimes they would mess up (like all of us!) but most of the time, they liked the responsibility - and the praise given for helping out. You give them plenty of fun and opportunity to have fun - They are all capable of helping out in some way each day! Don't try to do it all Mama!! Take care of yourself!

Almost 1 Million Subs!?!?!?! So excited!!!! I came across your channel a few months ago, when one of your videos showed up as a, "Suggested". I viewed it & it peaked my interest in learning more about you & your family. So I watched a video where you & Josh tell the story about your family. I was, HOOKED! As someone who went through the foster care system, from age 6 to 18, it makes my heart happy to see genuine love & affection you show your children. Your fosters aren't treated any differently than your biological children & that shows how pure you guys' hearts are. I went through 9 foster homes, before a stable home was found for me. All 9 of those experiences were horrible for me. Unfortunately, there are, foster horror stories. But there are loving & stable foster homes. It's just amazing to see how much joy & love you have for these children. It shows on their faces. Thank you for doing what you & Josh do, Alecia. From the Bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! ❤

These kid’s are FULLY capable of having chores and helping out! You don’t need to do EVERYTHING on your own, but I guess if that’s the way you choose to do thing’s with your family, then more power to you. It would most definitely help them kid’s grow into adulthood having some type of responsibility throughout their childhood without having mom ALWAYS do EVERYTHING for them. Love your family! Just a little piece of an opinion❤️💙

My son is about to graduate with a degree and is now working with major companies. I can understand a parent feeling like she might of momentarily. It can feel like a mountain when they don't function within societies idea of ‘normal’. It takes a lot of trial and error to find their specific way of learning and what might work for them. Not everyone has to go to university to be ‘successful’ though. It takes a lot of patience and acceptance that they have to do it differently and that's ok.

Part of being a good parent is teaching responsibility and the value of a dollar.. they obviously do not take care of their belongings, or know the value of money. This is all a part of becoming independent into adulthood. Recycling…. there needs to also be a conversation about learning to recycle. You are missing out on learning opportunities.

Ok my 2 cents again. Your oldest 5 should be picking up after themselves, putting close away, helping clean up kitchen, bathroom, etc. The younger ones should have bins by the entrance door and their respective bedrooms to put their stuff in as far as dirty clothes, shoes, toys, etc. As much as you want to spoil them, they need to learn chores and independence.

I love your videos. However maybe the children need to be taught to make their own beds and clean their own rooms. I raised 7 children and they had a chart hanging up in the bedrooms. Make their bed and pick up their rooms. I had a chart in the bathroom that told them jow to clean a bathroom we rotated chores each week. Some had kitchen duty, some bathrooms, some dog chores. Some were responsible for vacumning and sweeping. The chores rotated each week. I had a chart in the kitchen listing what had to be done to clean a kitchen. It teaches them responsibility. That way not one person was cleaning all the time. As they got older they were assigned a laundry day and they did their own laundry, including folding and putting away.

Start having Bree pick out her outfit , or two outfits to choose from, the night before. More than likely, if I had to guess, decision make may be harder for her. Pair that with teenage/preteen girl anxiety / drama / self-consciousness and what you see in her room is probably a reflection of what her mind is doing in the mornings when she is getting ready. Honestly once you started cleaning the house , it stressed me out where I couldn’t keep watching (& I love watching your videos) BUT I think the kids need to be more responsible and take charge of the mess they make. They are old enough to make their beds and keep their rooms clean. I understand morning rush but a quick clean up from each kid would help you soooo much, maybe they need more structure in that area. & give you more time for YOURSELF!

Well, maybe… but there’s no right or wrong… she might have her reasons… i was fortunate to have a maid from monday to friday when i was younger. Today i live by myself, i clean my house every week, make my bed everyday, do dishes, laundry… my mom was able to teach me that, even when i had someone doing that for me most of the days. So, let’s not judge ❤

You should do a house makeover series and teach the kids to keep their rooms clean and pick up after themselves. You shouldn’t be picking up after them and they should respect their things. Your house could look so nice. If you don’t want to deal with teaching the littles to make their beds, start with a beddy. But everyone feels better in a clean and organized space. And in the end you can reward them with a room makeover maybe to make them want to keep it nice. Fix those cabinets, fix things up. I’d love to watch that as a series!

You said that Bree goes through that every morning... well make her pick out her clothes at night so she doesn't have to do that. PLUS.. all that clothes all over the place should be HER putting them away.. she won't put them all over the place if she is the one that has to clean it all up. Now is the time to teach them so when they grow up they don't expect someone else to do it for them. I would like to see you have some of the older kids help you cook. Some of them help you do laundry. You really need help and they REALLY need to be helping you.

I love love love watching these vlogs of your family. It makes me happy to see how much you love ALL of your kids. As for doing the cleaning and making beds, etc. I always did those type things even though I also worked full time outside of the home. Yes, my kids did learn life skills and went on to college and adulthood knowing how to do things....I made sure they knew..but the most important thing for me was making sure they had their schoolwork done and if they had gotten into any extracurricular activities like sports, band, etc. that they maintained those commitments. Also made sure they attended church and if they committed to any other church activities or groups they keep those commitments . If this required me to have to do extra things around the house then so be it. No, it was not easy, it was very busy when they were all growing up-but I wouldn’t change a minute. My most difficult and most rewarding job.-being a Mom.I admire how you love and care for your family. And this is not intended as any type of criticism or to start argument...just how I chose. Everyone has their own life to live. Be blessed.

For Bree try the Kumari method of folding and storing clothes. It gives you a look at everything in the drawer so that you don’t have to pull everything out. I did this method with my daughter starting in 5th grade. She has ADHD and like Bree had decision making difficulties. She still uses it today as a 21 year old college senior. We also added drawer dividers for socks, underwear bras and pjs so that she can pick out one section at a time. The ADHD coupled with tween angst ( I want to look a certain way) is overwhelming in 5th, 6th and 7th grade.
