I recently transferred to a community college because i was at a state university and i just wasn’t doing well. Thing is, in my town, so many kids and teachers hyped up state colleges and universities so much that it made me feel like if you go to a community college, you’re dumb. So being transferred from such a popularly known (and expensive as hell) university, i felt stupid and embarrassed. But after just three days of classes, i’ve learned more and a lot better here than in the university before. People are extremely wrong about looking down on community colleges and they really shouldn’t. It’s a great way to learn at any day and age with amazing professors and practicians. Currently going for my Bachelor’s in Criminology! ( two years in cc and two more in regular university/college)

I mean why would people think community college is bad?? Because it’s affordable and your literally taking the same classes you need for a fraction of the cost at a university? I’m basically almost done with my associates degree with no student debt.

I flunked out of a $40k school so my parents sent me to Community college and I graduated with a 3.8 gpa. I transferred to NYU in the city and I graduate next year in pretty good shape. Community colleges is were everyone should go before the real deal.

Hey Maya, I'm an IB student and I used to struggle a lot with tests. I discovered a new method of studying and it has literally saved my grades. So what I do is I begin studying the information the day I learn it. Each day I'll review more as I learn more and that way, I won't have to cram the night before the test/quiz because i already know so much of the information. It's hard to force myself to do it everyday but it really does help, I think you should try it! Hope this helps 💗

I should’ve went to a community college... I’m currently in my first year at university. I decided not to go to a community college because people were like “sometimes when transferring from a community college to your university of choice, sometimes your credits doesn’t transfer” I was low key scared of that because I wasn’t trying to repeat multiple classes and having to waste money all over again.

I know what you feel. When I was about to get my Associates on El Paso Community College, I decided to start with the process to transfer to Utep. However, I had forgotten the great detail that there are occasions in which not all the classes can be transferred. Then, there you had me suffering. Despite that, I was lucky ‘cause I had taken the correct classes and I got not idea, haha. Besides, it was very beneficial to me to attend a Community College since as you already noticed it, english is my second language, and it is ironic due to I am American, haha. Anyways, don’t feel bad because you didn’t go to a Community College, it’s okay.

Yes that is true though some four universities will not accept your community college credits especially private ones. Happened to two of my friends she had to retake classes because the community college we went to didn’t accept her credits so she has to retake classes. My other friend he is supposed to be a junior but because the school he went to didn’t accept his credits he is now still a sophomore.

advisors help you with what classes transfer and you can call the uni yourself and ask them (universities love transfer students, and will be happy to help) and a lot of community colleges have articulation agreements and programs with universities

I'm a current community college student, and i have to say this: it saves more money than starting with a university EVEN if some of your credits dont transfer. First of all, there is a credit database for each university so that u can see if your credits are accepted before taking it. Second, there will be at least one course that won't be transfered fully, but THIRD. IT IS STILL CHEAPER IN WHICH U TAKE ONE OR TWO EXTRA CLASSES AT TRANSFERED UNIV THAN GOING TO 4 FULL YEARS!

Community college is basically just a high school , except a majority of the students are 20+ , you usually only go to school for a couple hours, and it’s $200 a class.

community college student here - typical thought from non-cc students: community colleges are easy and the classes are super simple me after 3 semesters: IM DRoWnInG because all my professors taught and came from USC, UCLA or Berk and they are hardcore.... lolz

lynn ly I made a lot of great friends! also because I lived at home and only went to school for class, I got to do what I love and volunteer at an elementary school in the day. and overall the vibe at my lil college was so chill and the professors and students were so friendly ☺️

lynn ly for me it was pretty similar! the only thing is that some people don’t want to stay friends, they just want to go in for class and leave, but I just made friends with like minded people ☺️

@@marinadiaz1762 my advice is make sure you enjoy what you're doing,and if the school sucks use your right to transfer to a better one. I made the mistake of dropping out instead of transferring because my school was horrible and didn't provide anything to help me with my future,and was a really bad environment. Now I have to start college over completely as if my first year never happened. But don't give up and make sure you're stubborn with yourself in terms of making sure you're passing classes and studying something you enjoy,and if you need to change your major at all don't be ashamed

I remember how excited I was to start community college, but that all went away after 4 weeks. At that point, I should've done something I wish I'd done 5 years prior (after sophomore year of high school): drop out. Leave my hometown for good and start a new life.

People just go to universities for the engaging experience. just to see what life is on campus. i would say the experience is completely different. community college usually everyone is reclusive, take their classes and go home. in universities you really have no choice to be engaged in your college community. i think there are pros and cons to both, but universities can help you develop more soft skills and help you network a little better.

I might be able to give a bit of insight. My school situation is messy due to health reasons and I'm taking the community college route later this year if everything goes to plan. My current plan that my counselor suggests is that I take this proficiency exam in June that will allow me to go to community college. I could get my GED but my counselor suggests the proficiency exam

Chance Davis she could also be in Washington state, there’s a program called running start that’s available to any high school student during their junior and senior year allowing them to take 100% of their classes both years tuition free at any community college. I’m going into my junior gear and starting at community college once school starts back up, if all goes well I’ll graduate at 17 with my associates and a direct transfer degree in pre nursing!

I came across your video and decided to ask a community college student: A teacher says that a technique never works. If you try to use it I guarantee you 100% that you will be wrong. Why would the vast majority of students do this exact universal failure causing technique on assignment after assignment? If you are willing "why is this?" Do students assume I'm lying?
