Day in my life as a christian mom, wife and homemaker. Getting out of a mental and spiritual funk, and trying to do things that make me happy again and find my joy and purpose in the mundane things of daily life and motherhood.
This is a pretty raw and honest vlog, sharing my emotional struggles of feeling alone as a stay at home mom. I hope it can give you hope that you aren't ever truly alone, God is always with you, and we are in this fight together! love you... hang in there and keep seeking the Lord! :)

I can't tell you how much I relate. My son is almost 6 and with him i had pretty bad PPA. My husband and I decided I would stay at home with him. My family is an hour away, my best friends moved to California/Michigan and I moved to where my husband lived (Massachusetts) which is over an hour from the state where i had gone to college and spent the prior years since graduation. An hour doesn't sound like much, but it is when your friends aren't also SAHMs, have kids of their own and you have a newborn. I felt lost, isolated and resentful of my husband for getting to go to work even though i truly wanted to stay home. I decided to start therapy and after trying a couple of therapists found it very helpful. I also joined a Mom's group and met a couple of nice women who became friends. Covid hit when my daughter was 5 months old and threw me right back into another season of loneliness. I continued therapy and started reaching out to my husband's friends wives when we decided to come out of our covid bubble. My husband isn't from here, but his best friend from college is and he was adopted into a wonderful group of friends. Making friends in my 30s was not the same as my lifelong college friends who live so far. However, it has been healing to have women here who didn't know me when, but who also have children and can share in the joys and challenges. I've been here 8 years now. My son will be 6 soon and i look back on that season of loneliness as that, a season. Yours is a season too. I applaud your efforts to try to work through it. Have you thought about therapy, a women's group at your church, Mom and tot groups? My Mom was right when she said I'll also meet women when my kids start school and i have. All that to say you will get through this season. You seem to have a lot of Faith and that will also take you far. I'll be praying for you. 💛

Thank you for sharing this with me, it was really encouraging. And the reminder that it’s a season, gives me a lot of hope! Were going to be joining a new small group in our church and I’ve joined multiple fb groups for moms in my area so I’m hopeful that I’ll meet some good friends and build a community here🙏🏻

I completely understand. I emigrated from Scotland to Australia 11 years ago when my first 2 kids were 2 and a half and 9 months old. I didn’t know anyone and I was very lonely and anxious. I joined a church that had a play group, a local primary school that had a playgroup and the baby rhyme time & story time at the library and I met friends that I am still friends with today. I also took them to soccer lessons and swimming lessons. Having somewhere to go almost every day really helped with not only meeting people and making connections but giving my days purpose outside of caring for the home. It’s a season, you got this mama 💪🏼 💗

I love these ideas of getting plugged into community! I definitely want to prioritize building community this year 🙏🏻🤍

That moment where you're enjoying your coffee but then have to hold it up high and put it to the side - that is the picture of Mom life! Brings back memories (mine are school aged now). This phase of life when they're so little is definitely a challenging time for plugging into community. Praying God would present friendship opportunities for you that are very local - church, library playgroups, etc. Thank you for sharing in such an open and vulnerable way. ❤

I feel exactly how you feel.. I have 2 boys under two and I've been struggling so much. I cry most days and feel extremely lonely in motherhood. I feel guilt for these feelings because i once suffered from infertility so i feel like if im sad or overwhelmed im not being grateful for what i once prayed for. I never imagined motherhood be so hard though. I wish we could be friends in real life. I live in PA and my family in California.. like you said i don't have a community or a friend in the same season and i wish i did.

Yesss, the guilt is really tough, because I simultaneously LOVE staying home with him, but it’s also one of the hardest things I’ve done. I’ve been learning that struggling doesn’t equate to not loving being a mom or being home with your baby, they can both exist at the same time, emotions are very complicated. Hopefully we can find community to help us feel less alone 🙏🏻🙏🏻 praying for that for both of us right now!

I’m close to sobbing right now because these are all words straight from my heart and head. I’m in Georgia or I’d be all for meeting up! Maybe we need a Facebook group or something

I’m in the same boat. I have a 5 year old son. I’m a stay at home mom and I’m homeschooling. My family does not live near me and I haven’t found friends where I’m at. I’m going to be putting my son in a homeschooling co op so I’m praying that will open doors for the both of us.

Oh that sounds like a great opportunity in the co op! I pray it opens those doors to lasting community and friendship. It is so hard to do all of this alone🙏🏻

@@_KendraChristine thank you so much! Doing motherhood without family around to be your village is definitely the hardest thing I have ever experienced. I’m extremely grateful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for the strength this experience has given me. It’s a lonely experience but through it all I have gained so much. I wish you and I could be friends in person. You are such a ray of sunshine I need in a friend. I pray God gives you the strength to be strong and continue being the amazing momma and wife that you already are!❤️

Starting at 3:50, I am feeling the exact same way. Crazy. I thought I was the only one. It really is hard to put into words, but the way you said it just really hit home for me.

Does local library have like mom and tots programs? I used to that when my kids were little! ❤

They do have toddler time that I’ve been wanting to take Elliott to, I think he would love it! And I do like taking him to the library just to play in a different area, it helps to get out of the house, so I should try and do it more regularly❤️

Have you thought about going back to work or work? Maybe put the baby in daycare and get a job so that way you can get out and make new ? Just a suggestion
@_KendraChristine
@_KendraChristine 7 ай бұрын
The pros wouldn’t really outweigh the cons for me going back to work. But it’s definitely something I’ve thought about, but as of right now I know staying home is the right choice for our family… later down the line that might change. I’m always keeping it open and seeing what the Lord is calling me to! ❤️
