Hey gang, wanted to do something different for you guys, and put together a DITL (day in the life) video of us mowing lawns. I know you guys want more lawn care and lawn mowing footage. Sometimes it's just hard with trying to get everything done so quickly, and on to the next job.
But, we slowed down this week on Tuesday, took our time with taking the camera with us and capturing some fun footage from the morning and afternoon. This was between 8am-1:30pm, where we mowed 23 lawns.
This is just an average day for us, honestly its one of our lighter days during the week. Hopefully you guys have some fun watching it, and learning from a few tips I threw in there along the way.
Side note, my employee Conner is the man. He had a good attitude about this as this was his first time on camera lol. But we had a blast knocking these lawns out and just bringing back some footage for you guys. Enjoy!

I just stumbled across your channel and I really like what I'm seeing. My dad owns a landscaping company and i work with him 3 days out of the week. The work load with my dad is definitely crazy some days, with our busiest day being Thursday (4 man crew finishing 30 houses by 11:30 AM). However we don't have the connection that you have with your customers, and that's what I'd like to see with my dad's company one day. Keep up the great work, and greetings from humid Houston!

You’re lucky, all your lawns are the same size. I have small ones and 2 acre ones with a bunch of stuff on them, not to mention I do them by myself. I always say it would be so nice to have a bunch of the size you’re doing or smaller. Seems like you can make more doing a bunch of small ones than taking a lot of time to do the big ones.

Hey Brian,Do you let your customers cancel a week of mowing if the grass isn't growing much? Or do you always show up every week regardless?
@BriansLawnMaintenance
@BriansLawnMaintenance 7 жыл бұрын
Gabe Astard all of my customers water. They're in nicer subs. So they have to keep that pretty image. A few lawns we may skip, but most folks who water regularly and fert regularly, we mow weekly 26 weeks straight. I don't take on new customers that have dilapidated lawns or start the convo with hints that they may be cheap. Someone else can take them. I have regular overhead, regular bills, regular payroll. I want regular consistent customers. I learned that the hard way over the years. Hope that helps!
@Lucasssss96
@Lucasssss96 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Brian! I have customers that want to switch to bi-weekly mowing in the late summer like july and august when the grass starts to slow down . I charge them extra, but not double. I like your thought process, next year i am definitely only gonna do weekly mowing.

+Swimbait1 This was done at 1:30pm with a gas station run and lugging the camera all over the place. This is a breezy day. I have a guy I work next to, runs his own business too, knocks out 55-60 per day, same style. Talk about $$. I'm getting there. Our route density is insane, as you can imagine.

Watching your videos, I'm noticing a time killer for me. I always push mow a perimeter and tight spots before riding. I haven't seen you do this at all. Appears to be unnecessary. Why in the world am I doing this?? Gotta up my skills on the rider I guess.
