What another whirlwind week on call! As always, I brought you along for the ride. This definitely wasn't an ordinary week on call. It was full of late nights and even a full day of LIVE cases broadcasted around the world. It was a really long week and I didn't get much sleep, but it was still weirdly a bit fun! Anyways, hope you all enjoy my interventional radiology vlogs! Let me know if you want me to keep making them!
DISCLAIMER: Live cases were were broadcasted to the world during our live case symposium. All patient information and privacy was protected for our patients.

U tube itself sent me your channel to check out ... Prob cause I watch lots of medical variety. just want to say after watching 3-4 vlogs... You guys are so wonderful! and I want to thank you for your front line service in NYCity during the Covid Pandemic. I’ve lived in Nevada since 1994 and am originally from Boston, MA. I do notice a hugh difference in medical care between a democratic state MA and a right to work state like NV. I needed to travel to UCLA CA for 2 major surgeries to get that higher level of surgical expertise. I and all my family had Polio 1955. We all recovered years later but similar to Covid Longhaulers some polio survivors came down with PostPolio ( the after effects of polio ). Short synopsis...polio... a very contagious disease like covid. A neuromuscular disease with 3 subsets... long story short our nerves regenerated forming small nerve branches but these tiny nerves were not as strong as our original nerves so they gave out decades later. For me it was 50 yes fifty years later and I was hit harder 2nd time around. So, I m still trying to survive for the last 15 years. If you re interested Dr Bruno wrote a good book on this. Please stay safe! You are both exposed to Covid daily. I know you are both smart but I would advise you both to do every precaution moreover X 2 . Young people think they can fight Covid easily but I m here to say I believe after effects are possible from my experience. Anyway, I m enjoying your channel! Can not wait to see the NYork apt all set up with a view no less... I m guessing the rent is over 3+ Grand? how close am I ? windows facing south oh that s another 500 •$ haha

I went on a much needed vacation (no call 🤗) and returned to find out we’re no longer doing covid testing for procedures. The admin decided that we’re just treating everyone as they have it (as you should) and leaving the tests for “emergencies.” We were, also, told that it’s no longer going to be a priority when the patient comes through the ER. Also, the only drawback of working at a large facility is the number of callbacks, which I don’t miss!

And that right there is why I don't use those combo locks anymore. In undergrad I forgot the key to my regular (not so little) Masterlock. I tried to use that method and could not get it open because the space was so tight where the metal bar part goes into the lock. Even tried different thickness of metals since the metal working shop was down the hall and nope.

I take STEMI call (similar to IR, but for heart attacks) and my husband gets up with me every time. We have a sound machine, ac on 70 and two fans going in our room. He’s a great sleeper and it doesn’t bother him. We’ve been doing it for so long, that it’s just a part of us 🤷🏻‍♀️ I did work at a larger facility where I’d literally go to work at 7am, have clocked out at 3:30am, gotten called in a few hours later and was able to go home and “nap” a few times with a more call-ins in between. Call life isn’t easy, but I make it work by planning everything. Those of us on call definitely live by our call schedules, since we have to respond to pages and be at work within 30 minutes.
