Hey everyone! WELCOME!! My name is Alyssa Yaramus and I am 22 years old! I am starting nursing school in fall of 2020 and would love to have you guys follow along my journey! I love everything to do with makeup, skincare, and hair care! I post a ton of different types of videos involving school, drugstore and high end makeup, and a ton of hauls! I’m a new grad ICU nurse (since December) and I just came across your channel and wow! I cant believe how much I miss nursing school but not all the anxiety 😂 Take it each day at a time! I promise it will fly by! Study everyday and good luck!!!

I just started nursing school this semester too and we just had our first check off last Wednesday! I was so freaking nervous too 😂 On my way to lab I kept saying the steps over and over and over. I was so worried I was gonna forget stuff. Luckily my partner and I passed!!

wow those scrubs are soo pretty! im starting at mount saint vincent in jan 2021 they have uniform for clinical but does ur school have a uniform u have to wear or can u wear whateevr scrubs you want?

I’m thinking of taking a few classes over at mercy college to get myself back on track...I’m over at Lourdes and love it but mercy was my first choice. Good luck on everything!!!

I had my first check offs last week in specimen collection and suture and staple removal. I was so nervous. Our first fundamentals test is on Tuesday and I am freaking out a bit.

What do you recommend nursing school through a community college? Or private/for profit?

habiba beebah I personally did not like the community college I went to for a semester and LOVE my private school BUT it definitely depends on how you are & your financial situation! I have friends who went to community college and they loved it!

@@AlyssaYaramus haha I've definitely taken advantage of my husband I've been practicing everything on him! We are not doing vital signs though we are doing head to toe assessment and Foley catheter!

okay i’m a freshman in hs and i wanna be a neonatal nurse when i get older and i’m very confused on the whole college situation, can someone plz explain to me exactly what degree and what type of colleges we do first- example is associate degree community college in nursing-plz im very confused and no one teaches us in school

Savanna Ledden so basically there are two ways to become a nurse! You can either go to a community college and get an associates degree or some bigger schools also have this. An associates degree is a two year program and you get the same skills training as you would in a bachelors program. You take the NCLEX after you graduate & will be a RN. Or you can go to a school and get your bachelors degree. This is a four-five year program depending on where you go and after you graduate you will take the NCLEX and become a RN. Some hospitals require you to get your bachelors so if you get your associates and go to a hospital that wants you to have a bachelors some will pay for part of your schooling. It just depends on what route you want to take!

I'm in the process of getting my CNA license now and then will be appling to nursing school. But, I remember the first time that I tried to take a BP on an actual human being...not as easy as I thought it was going to be! Skills aren't as easy as we think sometimes! I was not expecting that. LOL

Stephanie Carper I didn’t vitals on adults every day and sometimes still struggled! Sometimes it’s difficult to hear the sounds!

@@AlyssaYaramus Exactly. That's my biggest thing. Especially if someone has a really faint pulse. Definitely not as easy as I thought it was going to be. But practice makes perfect! LOL 🙂
