I really loved your video! It actually got me excited to pursue this pathway when I become a RN. I realize I would have to continue my education to a masters or doctorate. Are there any positions that you would recommend for the RN/BSN position before studying further? It made me curious as to how you got into this area as well. Thank you!

I think as an RN best is to apply for research assistant / clinical trial assistant positions, quickly followed by research nurse/trial coordinator position after a year of being an RA/CTA.

What kind of research are nurses able to do? Is it more ethics, humanities patient care etc? Or can you work in a more biochemistry experimental research? How did you get into clinical research industry?

Hi, Nurses can do two primary types of research. In academia, they can do nursing research which can involve qualitative or quantitative methods of minimal-risk research, primarily with a focus on nursing practice, clinical outcomes, various healthcare industry topics, and over about the nursing profession, etc. These are usually based on surveys, interviews, patient chart audits etc. Secondly, nurses can work on physician led or pharma sponsored studies. These typically take places within hospitals, CROs, hospital research institutes etc. In these places, nurses can work as "research nurses" or "clinical trial coordinators" most typically. They do hands on work with patients as well as patient data management, ethics applications, liaising with regulatory bodies etc.

Hello Mam, I just Finished my degree in Biochemistry and Industrial microbiology in India so im planning to take a clinical research course offered in Conestoga,Canada ...what do u think Mam?

its a good idea :) Just make sure to check that they offer co-op/internship. Also check that student visa in this program will qualify you for work permit in Canada after graduating. Best Wishes.

@@thebrownfeministcanada I actually emailed them about this and they told that they don't offer a co-op or placement and they told that there are numerous opportunities for students to gain experience is that good or should I look for another college ?Could you please suggest some other universities that offer internships or co-op.
