interactive investor's Sam Benstead gets exclusive access to abrdn's London office to chat with income investor Thomas Moore about what a day in the life of a fund manager is really like.
Moore, who manages the abrdn Equity Income Trust, speaks about the types of meetings he has, how he interacts with companies and colleagues, and how he fits together different pieces of the investment puzzle to deliver an income from UK shares to his investors.
He also goes into detail about his life outside the office, as well as how he got into the fund management business.

Can relate, i worked for giant dutch bank. The work environment, was a but more luxurious. A lot of talking, a lot of costs. Now everything is delivered in app. When i got back to some old colleagues, they didn’t even bother to get my business. Simple no point. They key point the overall keep making to de customers is talking about inflation en it’s impact. They happily admit, they can’t beat a low cost index fund.

Isn’t it funny that Warren Buffett performs significantly better than this whole company combined?

Warren Buffet is a trader as well and not only that but there are other managers who do as good or better than Buffet in terms of risk management and returns. The thing is you know him because he's really rich. You can't compare Buffet as he does not trade or invest for institutional investors but rather his own money and whatever he raises from the public markets through shareholders. I'm not sure what you mean by this whole company combined though. I can say that Apple is bigger than Berkshire Hathaway and has a higher margin product and more focused and therefore performs significantly better than Buffet's business. Not sure what point you're making at all.

@@metaparcel Warren Buffett is not a trader lol. I’m specifically talking about the returns provided to the shareholder. I’m saying that their funds cannot come close to generating the returns that he can even with all of their fancy analysts, managers, fancy building, etc. I would further expand that most of what they do could be characterized as twaddle.
