A Day in the Life of a Japanese Manga and Anime Figure Sculptor at Good Smile Company located in Akihabara Tokyo. This is a typical Japanese working day at the office at one of the top figure production companies in Japan. Creating all sorts of popular figures like Jujutsu Kaisen, and even Kimetsu no Yaiba! We follow Sho from morning until evening to see what a complete day would be like working at a Japanese figure making company. Sho works in Japan as a Genkeishi, also known as a Figure Sculptor. Sho sculpts his anime figure prototypes by hand using Nendo, in English putty or clay, in his case, a polyester putty. And for his main tools, uses a toothpick to add putty and a sharp q tip to smooth out the surface. Today, he is working on a Nedoroido ( Nendoroid ) style figure. We also meet and talk to some of the other office workers in the Japanese company and give a full office tour. This is life in Tokyo for a Japanese anime and manga figure sculptor.

There is absolutely no reason. Once you have an original sculpt, you can make high quality mould and do resin follow up. Painting is tricky, but the amount of paint used is abysmally small. If they made custom figurine from premium materials like polystone, marble and stone, and applied hand brushing each time - that would warrant the price but would also provide for serial differences due to nature of handcrafted items - they will have small kinks and varieties. Mould allows you to remake the shape fast with low production costs. And utilizing partitioning machines can apply color precisely. But now they cost tons because its simply a niche hobby and they want to milk us for our love of franchises. Fact

i actually eat like him because light meal and snacks are preferable to get a job done with more focus during the day. ice cream is great since it still contains sugar for carbos and are relieving esp. in hot season. eating full meal during morning and lunch just makes me sleepy and making the brain kinda soggy, makes me afraid i wont get any details on my work right being in such state. so yeah i relate to him alot.

I'm currently teaching in a school for deaf kids as a teacher of English, it's a full time job. I love my job, but the salary is so low that I can't make a living with it. Third world countries issues are real...If your job allows you to support yourself and your family, then I hope you have a better appreciation for it after reading my comment.

Well, imagine that you studied character creation and makeup for movies like the boy with colored hair and that you used and studied that same program (Blender) and make renders in your free time as in my case BUT it is useless because you live in a small Spanish town with few possibilities and people pressure you to be useful to society and you work washing dirty heads in a hairdresser with studies of characterization and FX. I want to die watching this

Probably not because many agencies don't let their talents appear on social media unless the account is managed by the agency itself

It'd probably be very hard, and even if he does, there is a good chance he'll need to wait several months if he does, unless he manages to get something a bit smaller profile like voice acting for an advertisement. Full anime would be a long wait, considering how much that industry wants to keep things private.

I'm surprised by the lack of figures in his apartment for someone who makes them for a living. Also this man puts more effort into facial skin care than his diet.

I mean, it's easier to have a load of mangas in a small apartment than figures. Also, he already makes them where he works so a bunch of them are displayed there. There's nothing wrong with putting on skincare either, but you're right about putting more effort into his diet. It can cause severe health problems later on in his life.

And how do you know what MOST salarymen in Japan feel?😂 So typically Western. I’m thinking that could be said about a lot of office workers in America. Too bad people have to watch this great series just to make negative remarks.
