Take a look at a day in the life of a Japanese Doctor before the coronavirus pandemic took place. Shingo Kawaminami has been a doctor in Japan for 11 years. I followed him around in a Japanese hospital for a day to see what life for a doctor was really like. It was an incredible experience to be able to meet his patients and experience Japanese culture. Watch a Japanese Doctor meet with actual patients and perform medical procedures. You'll be able to watch this doctor perform procedures such as chemotheraphy, blood transfusion, unltrasonography, and many other doctor responsibilities. At the end of the day, Shingo takes on another responsibilty as a father and takes his wife and kids to go shopping and eat.

I am in love with the Japanese people, I love the way they look after their elderly people and all people who need medical help. They seem so gentle and humble and respect everyone, this is so lacking in most of the west now. Thank you for bringing this info to those of us who will never be able to visit Japan.

Maybe its because its a small hospital but I am surprised at how much hands on work Dr. Shingo does, like administering the chemo and the transfusion or doing the ultrasound himself. At my hospital only the nurses would handle anything to do with the IVs and an ultrasound tech would have done the scan to send to the doctor. I hardly see the doctors at all. It seems like medicine in Japan takes a much more personalized touch than the US to me, but my hospital is also 7x the size of Kaifu and also in a major metropolitan area.

As a nearly finished family nurse practitioner who works as an RN ina large hospital.. this doc is asked to do a lot of peoples jobs. Hanging blood is not something a US doc ever does. They would never give chemo. Or even see a chemo patient as a general doc. However 8 is a low amount of patients for a day. Good man

Great video! I was curious to see what the medical staff do, at a Japanese hospital. That's interesting to see the dr giving blood transfusion & starting Chem meds. I'm a RN from California, we do that. Maybe it's not in the scope of practice for the nurses there.

@mei42na 3 жыл бұрын
In Japan, nurses carry out complete nursing care, so they do everything from bed baths to changing diapers. Administering iv meds, blood transfusion etc are also part of the scope of practice here but the big difference is that nurses needs a doctors order to add or adjust medications at all times. Nurses also encourage self-management of medications to perfectly capable patients.

Where do you live bro? I actually want to becomr a doctor in japan as well but the things is I think Japanese people prefer more japanese doctors than foreigners. Some say even if you are fluent in speaking japanese, still it is difficult to be hired there because this type of job they are hiring priority on their own people only. 100 foreigner Doctors are hired in japan every year and with that low chance rate I think it's difficult. But nothing is impossible
