I have not heard of anyone in ophthalmology but I JUST added an oculoplastic PA on IG recently!!

How did you become a medical assistant with no previous experience? I’m struggling to find a job to get all my PCE hours to apply next year.

Try to be physical therapy aide, it requires no certificate and it counts towards PCE. Check with the schools your eyeing, to confirm.

You could also try to take a phlebotomy course and maybe EKG to add to your skills. Then after that apply every and anywhere, except hospitals. Even if it says certified only. Sometimes they'll accept you. :)

thanks for the replies! I ended up getting an interview for a medical assistant position at a gynecology office. And also landed a position as a clinical research associate at a dermatology clinical trials unit
