9:06 “eating shouldn’t require that much focus”. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned “eating meditation”, from Thich Nhat Hanh. Eating mindfully has changed my life for the better.

Nice video Nikita! Keep going. I'm also looking forward to establish a career in the PE industry, and I hope to hear some advice from you. In the meantime, as you mentioned you are preparing your CFA exams, probably I can offer some help if needed as I'm charter holder and I passed all exam in first try.

what tangible skills are needed for PE?or perhaps what do you reccomend i learn being an undergrad?

Powerpoint and excel are what we deal with most at work everyday, so being familiar with excel shortcuts and creating different graphs and charts are useful skills to have. In terms of technical knowledge, accounting (three financial statements) and corporate finance (valuations and LBO modeling) would be helpful. There are normally relevant classes at universities and there are also a lot of courses online that can help you learn these knowledge and skills.

I have just two quick questions. How did you get this job? What kind of experience did you have before attending this PE firm?

Q1: I started as an intern at my current firm during my junior year in college and then transitioned to full time. Q2: I majored in financial engineering and had one internship in PE and one internship in quantitative equity research before working at my current firm.
