Communication is the best way to support Joe. Just ask him how is he doing, ask him how you can support him, ask him if he wants you to talk about her, etc. Just simply ask. He may not even know what he needs right now. But grief can often come in waves and it can hit you out if no where. Just lean on each other and you will get through this. Love you guys and your videos!

Just be there for him. In whatever way he needs. Ask him if he's okay or if he wants to talk about anything. And PRAY for him! Pray that he finds comfort and peace in this time of sorrow. We lost my husband's dad in October and it was literally the hardest thing we've ever went through. And it's still a battle sometimes, but it gets easier. ❤ Also, how absolutely beautiful that Joe put that page together for his mom for everyone to come together to show their love for his mom and their love and support for his family. It will be so nice for the kids to have that when they get older.

Literally 3 days before joe’s mom’s passing my husbands mom passed away. I feel the same way you do do I talk about it avoid it, my husband also seemed to hold things in and be okay but sometimes be sad if it hard. Luckily he’s in therapy so I felt a little better about him getting his emotions out to someone. Praying for y’all bc I know it’s hard. Also I love you and your channel!!!

My husband’s dad and brother passed away within a year of each other. I can tell he loves when I ask to hear stories about them and he has a chance to talk about them and think about happy memories. I can also tell he really appreciates when I remember their birthdays/anniversaries/etc and just let him know I’m thinking about him on the hard day or ask if he would like to do anything to celebrate. They passed away before my children really knew them so I do my best to show my children pictures/tell them about them and how they live in Heaven with God and Jesus. Praying for you guys during this difficult time!

I've noticed my "energy level" has as much to do with feeling like I haven't had enough me time as it does how much sleep I'm not getting. There's a lot of days where I went to bed several hours late, but I feel great the next day because I spent those extra hours doing things alone that bring me joy and emotional rejuvenation

My fiance lost his mum back in August 2020. It was very unexpected and totally turned our world upside down. For the first few days I gave him his space, just let him do what he felt he needed to do, but always just let him know, I was there, if he needed anything he wasn't alone. It helped that a few weeks later I found out I was pregnant, not saying that's what you should do. We'd been trying for a while and it was like her parting gift to us. You're both in my prayers, I'm so sorry for your loss. Gone but not forgotten ❤

I think just asking him what he would like you to do would help. If he’s talking.. listen, if he’s seems lost in thought, give him some space..n lots of hugs. We lost my father in law 4 months after getting married. It’s been 9 years now, I can still see how much he misses having his parents see the kids grow.

I lost my dad in 2017 and my husband didn't know how to help me. He tried but he was more quiet about it. My advice is to talk to Joe. Check in and ask him...I am a Virgo who tends to bottle up but it never helps. Losing a parent changes you...you're sad, angry, more sad and just lost. I know I was because my dad was my bff! So yes just talk to him...if he doesn't then dont push it. He may not be ready to talk or just pushing his feelings aside for now. But check in and let him know you're there ❤❤

I didn’t know how to help, But I just reminded him that I’m always here for him, he can talk and I will listen. I tried to do smaller things for him in hoping it would make his day a little better. You and joe are in my thoughts and prayers.

I love magic spoon. It’s actually really really good. The monk fruit they use to sweeten the cereal is healthy but expensive, I buy monk fruit for my coffee and it’s like $5 for a small bag lol, so that’s probably another reason. Worth it! Cause let’s be real, regular cereal is trash for health 😅

Probably not really advice but my MIL passed this Jan an my husband isn't the type to show his emotions much. From time to time when we talk about memories of her, and how she was with our kids etc I ask how he's coping with it all but I leave it at that. I can see he doesn't really want to talk about it so I just check in with him from time to time. It will depend on Joe's personality but if he doesn't seem too keen to talk about it yet (especially because it's so recent still), I think just check in on him and let him know you're thinking about him. Everyone grieves differently so it's hard to know how to console someone. Hang in there! Sending prayers your way.

As a woman who lost her father 3 years ago during her first pregnancy, it is never easy losing a parent. No matter your age. And everyone grieves differently. My husband also doesn’t know what to say as he’s never experienced losing a parent but the best he can do is respect my feelings and do his best to comfort me in those times. I try to make sure my kids know who Papi was even though they have never physically met their grandfather. So we keep his memory alive as much as possible. We celebrate his birthday by making arroz con pollo. We try to make a fun day on his obit day so it’s not all sad. Even though I’m dying on the inside. I do my best to keep it together. What you can do is take her life and everything that she was and apply it to aspects of your life. She make a dinner or tradition Joe loves, add that into a special date. And make every day as special as you can because you are not promised tomorrow. No going to bed mad. Patience. Grace. Love. And positive communication. If you aren’t sure how to help, just ask him and make sure he’s ok and that your there for him. Maybe go to church and let your reverend/pastor/priest/who never know that Joe’s mother passed and you will get so much prayer for you and your family. Just that little extra love and acknowledgement helps the sadness. Sorry that was so long winded but, it’s important and I’m very sorry for Joe and you and your whole family. We all love you here.

My father passed 59years ago, my mother, 24 years. Today is her birthday. She's be 102. One thing I know about grief. It never goes away, it only changes. Since Mimi's around, take a long walk, not a drive, with Joe, just the two of you. Don't question him, just walk. It may be a safe place for him to share with you. If not, the exercise will do you good. Don't press him. Let it be.

My husband lost his dad suddenly. It was a shock for everyone and it was around Christmas. Everyone will grieve differently and it will take time for everyone. There is no right or wrong way, which is okay. Some will cry others won’t, some will be angry and others will seem like they are ok. But we all have our ways. Just be there for him, make sure he eats even a little bit. It will be a process and it will take time. Continue your prayers and seek Jesus because he will help. The pain will never go away fully but it will get easier. I believe that one day we all will reunite and so one day he will see her again. Just stay there for each other and it’s okay to experience all kinds of emotions. This is the hardest time in a persons life. Just know that none of you are alone. You are doing good. You’re a great mom and spouse. This is a lot for you too, but just focus on one day at a time. Much love.

If you want some advice how to speak to husband about his mum's death.. Sit down in a comfortable place without the kids, just you and him. Tell him that you're there for him, you want to listen if he wants to talk about the loss, and if doesn't want to talk about it, just reassure him that always here for him and always willing to listen. Advice for you.. if your husband starts to talks about his mum. Keep your answers very basic like example, it will be okay. And say to your husband, she was a great mother to you and a great grandmother to our children. There should be no judgement, opinions from your end. You shouldn't say we all sad. Your husbands grief is different to your grief. That's his mum. He's a lot closer to his mum so he will probably struggling more than you. Hope his okay and also you.🙏🏻💛

Men for the most part like to ignore their feelings that’s how my husband is. Just ask “how are you doing?” When you have alone time and if he doesn’t wanna talk then, just let him know you’re available whenever he needs. Eventually he will probably come to you to talk but it might not be till later, maybe even after the funeral. Just numb at first and just taking care of things until he can really process it. Hope that made sense. God bless! Hold close to God and Mamma Mary for comfort :)

This comment is actually funny to me because in our house and kids, sharing isn't always encouraged. My toddlers have their personal toys that only they can play with unless they give permission to the other sibling. They're 4 and 1. This goes with any playmates that come over too. We have community toys and personal toys(those go away when company is over). At least Kayla is trying to get her kids to understand but they're toddlers after all.
