A piece of advice that was given to me years ago by an experienced lifter (who is now my friend): don't jerk the weight. Pull it slowly and and in a controlled movement instead of yanking it. You're trying to put stress and tension on your muscles, not launching a Beyblade (yeah, he used this example too lol). Slow and controlled movement, only jerk it for those final 2-3 reps of a set, when your tank is empty. Keep up the great work, love your dedication!
@David-gg9kv3 жыл бұрын
That’s incorrect for most athletes. A lifter would want to do that because it’s better for hypertrophy (more time under tension) but an athlete wants more explosive strength (sprinting,jumping) so they want to be explosive during the concentric part of the lift
@plitas3 жыл бұрын
@@David-gg9kv I would read very carefully what you just wrote, son, take it in, actually understand it and then come to the conclusion on why you might wanna delete it before people start roasting you. Cheers!
@David-gg9kv3 жыл бұрын
@@plitas you going to respond to anything I said? what i said is scientifically proven this isn’t really even a debate
@plitas3 жыл бұрын
@@David-gg9kv Seriously. do you even comprehend what you just said? Show me the studies. No one, no athlete, from any sport on planet Earth benefits from jerking motions, that is a recipe for injury straight off the bat. By jerking, you're putting unnecessary stress on your tendons, which is what your body is forced to use to fling the weight up and down since you're refusing the use your muscles in a controlled motion, as it should be. To perform explosive movements you need strong muscles, muscles that have been developed by tension, muscles that have the strength and the elasticity to perform that movement through repetition. Controlled movements are used by every single athlete when it comes to lifting weights, no matter what sport they specialize in. We're not talking about speed drills or agility courses here, but weight lifting, which is what he was doing at the gym. If you're gonna jot down crap just to pretend you're smart, do some research, educate yourself on the subject, on how the human body works, how physics work, PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THE WORK and feel the process with your own body.
@David-gg9kv3 жыл бұрын
@@plitas I’m going to assume you know what the eccentric and concentric part of a lift are. If you are an athlete, and want to build explosive strength, you want to go slow on the eccentric and fast on the concentric.

Bro just a little advice here. You should focus more on the pyshical aspects of the game, stamina, strength, speed, etc, of course technique is also really important. But nowadays the game is becoming more pyshically demanding. Good luck ✌️

Bro you can't go/be pro if you won't/don't have great technique I know physical is important but technique is the key
@ididntgetthejoke35873 жыл бұрын
@@yoni7765 nah bro if you've mastered the basics, such as shooting and passing and on top of that your physical aspects are very well developed you can make it. At least that's how it is here in England. A lot of epl players are just really pyshical and lack actual technique but have the basics mastered. But yeah the higher the level your aiming for the better your technical ability needs to be. Have a good day 👍
