Now he's a UPS driver that's deserving of some type of recognition. 25 years without a single incident and im sure he knows some that don't care about their job as much as he does.
@sherrieadams1253 Жыл бұрын
@Jack Since 2007 the workers are not as responsible or care like the ones of us that were older and vested. They would throw packages and sling stuff out of the trailers like it was hay in a barn. We had so many damages and torn open boxes the last 3 years I was there. People were stealing like crazy and I would have to call and report on what I knew had been broken into. It was terrible because I am looking to retire in 3 or 4 years and the kids coming in act like oh, well. I actually told some of them they were not going to ruin UPS or my retirement when they don't give a crap. After several butt chewings it was "yes miss Sherrie". I watched all of them like a hawk because (and I hate to say this) we were having big screen TV's, computers, meds, cigars, cell phones, games and much more walking out of our center. HOW? You might ask? I did too but eventually the fox gets caught in the hen house and they were passing it off to people in cars at the back of the lot at night and the SUP on that shift just sat in the office and played dumb. They should have been fired too, it was on their watch-RIGHT?

About 96 stops and about 80 miles a day. That sounds like a nice route, retirement route for sure.

Fun fact: the uniforms didn't start out in the now-famous brown color. The trucks back then were a different color but the company noticed that it look a lot of time cleaning the trucks up because it was covered in dirt and mud (back in the day most roads weren't paved, it was a dirt roads). They eventually changed the color scheme to match the dirt colored brown so the delivery trucks didn't look as bad during their routes. The brown color stuck to this day.

I worked at this center for 30 years as a Preloader. I know everyone of those people and retired in January 2011. I was the first woman in this center to retire after 30 years with full benefits. This job is not for the faint of heart, you need a strong back, strong will and a good reason to stay. 1. Pay 2. Benefits 3. Retirement Pension 4. Life Insurance and they don't take one cent out of your paycheck for these benefits.

I’ve been a full time swing driver for 2 1-/2 years. Every route is different. Some residential routes you can do 160 by 4:00-5:00. Some routes 160 will take you till 6:30-7:30. It all just depends. Most of the industrial business routes will be about 55-80 buisness stops with pickups starting around 2:30-5:00 and you will usually have a little bit of resi to do after you drop air. Around 25-45 resi at the end

Because no one in the hub has to put up with all the BS we do.... From customers to management to dispatch...our job is the most intense and stressful out of all positions.
@kyleneeley14 жыл бұрын
