Great video! I did food delivery last summer for the first time up until this past May when the food delivery company just up and shut down with no reason why. I loved it. Being out on your own and getting the job done feels great every time. I'm now waiting to be contacted for a courier job I applied for. Been talking to the manager there several times. Nothing like hearing one of my favorite songs as the background music. I've never actually had a job with small stops like this. Just delivered goods at gas stations but definitely both are a lot of work

I appreciate seeing this type of vid. I live in a near downtown suburb on a local area major street. All major delivery services (including semis) go past my house. I prefer NO doorbell ring. Alexa tells me when a package has been delivered by Amazon.

Delivery is being organized , did a gig during covid with 2 food delivery restuarants , avg $150 a day including tips , gas was cheap during the pandemic so $13 a day was common . Having no drinks and packages not in an open bag is your friend. We also would drop and pic take , the customer would follow on an app , seeing us on our way to their door .

I do not like rural areas, I dislike them immensely!! They are super annoying and no food joints within sight. I am going to a different DSP that deliver by where I live in Colton California, no more dirt roads, no more cows, horses or cowboys 😂 I will be able to deliver in my Heelys 😁

My instructions are like that. I've had delivery drivers just throw stuff on our showroom floor at my work place (I work at a Chevy Dealership), one driver left the boxes in a parking space outside in the rain... And I have the instructions saying to "Take all packages to the Parts Counter just inside the Service Drop off tunnel, We have a cart for you to use if needed." I now buy most of our stuff from Staples and they deliver next day, the dude may be dressed like a bum, but he read and followed the instructions.

I been working at Amazon for about two years this upcoming October and sometimes I like it and sometimes I hate it. It just depends on your area,stops, and weather. I rather work in 60 than 90!!!

I don’t know if you’re still driving, but to prevent any hits on Ementor, I shut the Ementor phone off completely, after I sign in. That’s the only way I keep a perfect 850 score. I’d check with your DSP or Leads before doing this though.

No doorbell, maybe knock. I assume everyone has a baby napping. I only worked 2 shifts and its kinda weird how out of 400 deliveries only maybe 5 actually come out to acknowledge me. Mind you it is now 40f in Winnipeg. But yeah so different from when I delivered food from 2015-2019. I took me about 8 hours to deliver 90-97 stops so far.

As far as the doorbells I don't ring them taking in consideration others work schedules babies and sleep schedules however if I'm in a shady place where people are hanging around (esp apartments) I ring a doorbell knock make some kinda loud noise or if I have enough time I will call/text the customer...

The default should be to not ring the doorbell unless requested. There are many reasons like doorbells are upsetting to pets, might wake babies, etc. I dont do amazon, but the delivery i do, my ratings went up when i stopped doing things unless requested.

I work for delivery service in Serbia, in some way sam job, but we have little complicated cause we have packages with payment on delivery most time and we must to call and delivery to the person, and forbidden to left packages anywhere.

i used to work at amazon. hated the country just cause the dogs. got attacked by a bull mastiff my leg healed quite well but damn i’ll never forget that when he locked into my calf and i was screaming bloody murder. dude got him off with his shock collar. i love dogs too imma be honest i don’t follow any of the training amazon does and i worked there for 2 years and would be first to get back to the lot often. honestly take all that training from amazon and throw it out the window. obviously if it works for you keep doing it. in terms of the totes it’ll go by order on the phone so it’ll have the last digits for the totes and that’s how you’ll go in order. they could be disorganized on the. cart but go by the device and the orders of the codes. then take i like to do what i call a train method and i take each tote and push it to the back and keep doing that until i have a train out of my van and then i just take ‘em up one by one inside the van and load it all up together. in terms of boxes i didn’t even bother organizing those except by size. that’s all you really need. and what i make sure too is all the labels are facing up so that way i can just turn around and look without having to move anything i put the boxes on top of eachother to where all the labels are still visible not upside down or facing a wall so i can just look and only move and grab what i need to. i put small boxes towards the front and big boxes towards the back. also take all that stuff in your tote…and dump it all into the front passenger seat. envelopes go in the middle. large boxes on floor. small boxes on seat. so that way you can just stay in your seat turn and look for a name and get out. no getting up and searching through a tote cause it’ll tell you what to look for. small box. big box. envelope. idk why amazon teaches us to organize a certain way. i’ve always just tossed it in and it’s way faster that way. you waste so much time organizing by numbers or whatever their method is now. and with peak just put all the totes up against the door make sure the tote you’re gonna do first is the one stacked on top and in the middle so you can just turn around and grab what you need. then you can collapse the tote and walk through to get a small box or go to the back where the big boxes are and then you can go from there so you’re not having to climb over stuff.

i just got hired to do delivery for amazon and seeing smaller women loading up the vans gives me hope that I too, can load those vans (as a very tiny person)

lordy, i remember when i was 18, my uncle told me to apply to UPS and use him as a reference. they never hired me as a driver, the company liked to hire vets, and it didnt matter if i had a 202 IQ and was quite healthy and fit. Y'all got it easy with the EOE hiring, progressive policies in these modern corporations. I had to elist in the Army and go to Ranger School, then travel abroad and let me tell ya, the paychecks sucked! Where I found my niche in driving (i love to drive, actually) was with Supershuttle in L.A. and San Diego. There I learned to run an airport shuttle company which like the military is 24/7 🤑
