Hey y'all!
It's been a quick minute, but welcome to a typical day-in-the-life of moi, whom is among the unemployed. I wanted to show y'all how I make some extra money. If you've never heard of Amazon Flex, this is your video to learn the ins and outs of how it works. I know this is only a temporary season, but while I'm here, I gotta get this money!
Enjoy! ❤️

You are correct, but since I was laid off from my job, I’m considered unemployed. Being a flex driver doesn’t pay the bills whatsoever, it’s just a little bit of extra money from time to time

44 stops for 3 hour block is insane, but I guess is different everywhere! I'm in New York and the most I get for a 3 hour route is 25 stops! Oohh and we still have the 30 minutes wait before they release you! We have 7 stations within minutes of each other so we make decent money cause we get $250/$300 blocks! 😁 I personally don't take anything that is less than $30 an hour, not worth it! 🤷🏽‍♀️ great video keep it up!

As a courtesy to your customers...you should at least ring the bell and/or knock so the person can know that they have received the pkg... it's nothing like expecting a package and you're home and the person didn't even try to ring the bell and someone steals your package 📦
@thelifeoftee
@thelifeoftee 2 ай бұрын
So typically, customers will put in the notes on the app if they want you to ring their doorbell/knock. A lot of them do not prefer it though. Quite often there are signs outside their doors that say, “DO NOT RING DOORBELL.” But I always try to hide the packages in a safe place if I can, i.e. behind bushes, plants, or something like that. In apartments, that kind of hard though.

@@thelifeoftee That's what I tell people all the time! If you want us to ring the doorbell let us know in the notes. Some people are trying to sleep on a night schedule and they don't appreciate that. You never know.

@@thelifeoftee Yeah i usually tell people DO NOT RING BELL because it sets off my dog and i cannot quiet him down. ALSO sometimes the buzzer is so loud it frightens the bejezas out of me. I love that you number your packages 🎉 I have been doing that for awhile now. You probably already know but do two blocks a day. And wait an hour before the block is supposed to start before you select the block, usually the blocks increase around that time like for instance. 11 o’clock blocks go in the app around 10 AM. I can’t say how much money you will make but just plan it out you will be surprised. I can pull between 700 to 900 in one week no more then 5 to 6 days. I like to go in early like 4am or 7am then come back and bang another one. You can’t do no more then 8 hours in one day.

What’s the heaviest package you’ll get ? And does the map works in areas with bad WiFi’s ?
@thelifeoftee
@thelifeoftee 2 ай бұрын
I would say the heaviest is about 30-40 pounds, and those end up being the ones I have to walk far with it seems like lol so it’s really good to invest in a wagon if you can. As far as the map, it’s steadily improving but sometimes it does not work in bad areas. For example, I’ll deliver a package and when I tap “start travel” for the next, it’ll give an error message about the connection. That can be super frustrating! I kinda just have to leave out of the area until I get a better connection.

I have a few questions, hopefully you're able to answer them because I'm planning on applying as a 2nd job. 1. Though you have finished your route early, is it possible to get another route before your shift ends? Or you only get 1 route per day? 2. Do they cover for gas? It seems like it doesn't but I wanted to ask anyways. 3. I know in the beginning you had said something about having another person work with you, do you notify Amazon about it or it doesn't matter?
@thelifeoftee
@thelifeoftee 2 ай бұрын
Hey! 1. Yes, you can work more than one shift in a day. But even if you finish the first shift early, the shift time has to end before you can have another shift. I’ve done two in a day before, one in the morning and one in the evening. 2. No, unfortunately they do not. That’s why it’s important to have a shift that pays well. 3. So, technically you don’t have to tell Amazon that someone else is working under your account. However, you would want to make sure it’s someone you can trust to work under your account because whatever they do during deliveries affects your account standing. But if you have someone in the car with you, it’s no problem. Several couples do it together or friends. But you have to be the one to actually put the package on the customer’s door.

Honestly, I don’t think so here in Texas. In my opinion, we do way too much driving here and the money really isn’t enough. There are times when there are “surges” when they’ll pay more, but that’s no guarantee. For example, 3 and a 1/2 hrs, you can make $63 but my best friend who does it in Arkansas will have the same amount of hrs and make $90-$100. When you factor in having to pay for gas, wear & tear on your car, and having 35-40+ packages to deliver, you WANT to be paid well lol. Being a flex driver here is better to do for a “side hustle” but you still need a FT job because you definitely can’t live off of it.

However, I’m pretty sure because he doesn’t see me wearing mine while delivering, which I don’t because I’m hopping out of the car every 1-3 mins, so he thinks it’s okay to not wear his. 3. He gets told to put his seatbelt on and/or sit down several times. Another reason why I hardly do deliveries with him. But please believe when it’s time to drive a long distance, i.e. driving home after delivering OR any other time we are in the car on a daily, he wears his seatbelt.
