In most situations, English teachers do not need to be fluent in the language of the country they are teaching in, as schools are wanting their students to be fully immersed in the English language. However, we highly recommend learning the local language as much as you can as it is appreciated by natives of that country and can aid in fully immersing yourself into a foreign culture.
