I watched your video few weeks ago and decided to come back to drop a comment. After watching your video I got a cowork space its $25 a month and I love it gets me out house and I can meet clients easier I have made friends with a few other coders at the space great for networking. All around great idea thanks for the info. I do not have a designated desk like you but they have just so much free space I always find a desk, table or counter to use.

So glad I came across this video & channel! It was really insightful and helpful for me as I consider getting into web design. I currently just started freelance graphic design part time however I want to be a designer full time. A career/schedule with flexibility is really important to me and now I can see what a day in the life looks like - and I am impressed. Also, you are really handsome!

Great video. The are loads of different ways to look at. I don’t care how much passion a person has ,sitting all day in front of a screen is no joke it eventually will drain you. So personally as a freelancer I had to rethink how I manage myself. I do actual designing between 5am and 10am then I do sales and admin for a few hours till about lunch time. I then do whatever I want to do because free time is important I want to enjoy my life.. if more designing is needed then I do it at night….. obviously in the beginning you have to just work like mad but you eventually figure it out

Hey! I'm not a webdesigner, but i'm doing niche research for marketing agency, awesome that you made this video to show us the inside of your life as a webdesigner! I had one question though: Wouldn't it be way more efficiënt for you to do your meetings via a platform like zoom? Have you thought about that? :)

What is it that makes you passionate about web design and how you deal with non-creative moments , when you dont know how to visualy solve a problem ??

Great question! I guess my passion comes from the fact that being a creative, the web allows me to play with images / colors / text / video all in one place. I treat web design as art you're being paid for to achieve business goals. When I'm stuck in design, usually I stop and go do something else: play / watch a movie / do something that triggers other creative parts in my brain. I hope that helps!

@Kaychino The Digital Alchemist: I liked how real and honest you were in this video. You didn't beat around the bush or make everything seem like it was perfect. Also, you are funny. Lol. Thanks for sharing this with us. I have to add that the only con about this video was not seeing exactly what you did up close. I was hoping to see that in this video. So that is something to keep in mind if you decide to edit this or create a video that shows us exactly what you do as a web designer. Btw, I detected an accent and you had mentioned something related to countries in this video. What country are you from? Is it Dominican Republic? Regarding you constantly feeling tired, I would suggest you see your doctor about that so that you can possibly get some help with your situation.

I am pursuing a career in Web Design and wrapping up second semester in college. I start my third semester in January. Any advice on what I should know ahead of time or anything I need to know to become a great Web designer?

That's a great career choice! I got a few videos on the topic but what I can say is: try to spend 15 to 30 minutes per day (or more if you can) looking at websites on webdesign showcase galleries (like awwwards, best design inspiration, behance, etc.) - Then make notes (in Notejoy or Evernote or Notes depending on what you have) per month. I add the links to the websites I like and I write keywords (e.g. "minimal / fresh / colorful / corporate, etc.) I've learned so much from just doing that!

To cut a long story short, I use Elementor Pro as for me it's the best of both worlds between flexibility / ease of use / and pricing.

Excellent question Joseph. I don't work weekends - and also depending on the workload, I can take some time off. Well I should say "could" because when that happens, I work on my YT channel. Putting in the hard work now so that I can reap the benefits later :) Don't worry, if you freelance it's a lifestyle - you can manage your own hours.

how much does a web designer freelancer earn ? in your video u mention about focusing on less creative task what does that mean can u be more specific if u don't mind ? I'm actually new so I'm trying to figure out everything about this field :) do u also work with web developer for your websites to work ?

Very good questions! Earnings depend on core skillset & commercial skills for the most part - experience allows for fine tuning in those areas. When I talk about less creative tasks, there are plenty but for example setting up the website for privacy / GDPR is very important but not creative / same for optimizing images for the web, etc. I'm a web designer / front-end developer but nowadays with theme builders even if you are not a web developer you can create beautiful and even dynamic websites (so many tutorials here on KZfaq). It's an exciting time to be a web designer :)

If you love web design, you can totally pursue a career without the need to become a coder. With tools like Elementor Pro. I do advise however that you learn the basics (HTML + CSS) alongside, just so that you have a better understanding of how things work. It will also help you create better websites. Try TeamTreeHouse: it's cheap and damn good!

What are the technologies used for web designing

The web design core is going to be tools like Photoshop / Adobe XD / Figma or similar and then for web designers that do front-end dev you'd need HTML / Css / JS. But if you want to go the CMS (Content Management System) route, Wordpress + Elementor is an amazing eco-system.

Hi Dinie, sure! I've built my own tool when it comes to prototyping, but for the rest I use WordPress, but not just installing themes and changing the content. I build with WordPress but still love hand coding css and building dynamic websites. You don't "have" to, but in my opinion you will be better off learning basic html & css (easy to learn - you could learn it in a month). That will make you a better all around website creator. 16 too late? Are you kidding me? Nope it's not late at all. Quite the contrary :)

hello Remo! It depends on which industry you a re targeting, but if you want to work in an agency (or any other creative type of business) it should not be a problem at all. Lots of designers I met are tattoed, so it shouldn't be a problem. Unless you work as a web designer / dev for let's say a bank, or similar stricter corporate environment. But then again, it's much more fun to work for a creative business.

Web design & WordPress website creation : not at all :) It's different for custom web developement and advanced Javascript for example, but even then, it's nothing like mathematics being taught in school.

@@mrbiggs1213 You can learn it all on KZfaq for free, but it may take you time, because the information is spread all over. Or, you can try something like Team TreeHouse where you pay $25/month. And if you're serious about it, in less than a year you can be ready to get your first job :)

It depends. If you are employed probably 9-5 but it depends on your employer's policy. I am self employed so that gives me the freedom to choose my hours :)

Awake at 6-7:00 a.m. Organizing and website updating with ManageWP dashboard first with caffeine, then work on my business website until I'm fully awake. If I'm not waking up fast enough, videos by the masters who share their techniques before webwork. Breaks also with more videos by the masters. Updates on the latest changes and new plugins, security, hardening, and speed techniques. More webwork. Experimentation on staging site and pushing to the main site. Some breaks watching videos of psychics about U.S. politics. Copious notes at my right hand, in OneNote with images, and on sticky notes. Political news on TV. Lots of intermittent fasting daily because...sitting! Stop around midnight to sleep beside my laptop. Some of my favorite video mentors at the moment: Living With Pixels, Oooh Boi, Ferdy Korpershoek, Flux, A Nerd's World, Income School, WP Learning Lab, WP Crafter, and now I've discovered KayCinho! You should be famous, too. Thank you for your shared techniques and expertise! Subbed!
