I've always adored this channel w/ your tips/advice, home decor, etc., and I've been watching you since had your other home - so welcome back, Melissa!!! I do exactly what you do prior to any trip w/ cleaning. I feel better leaving a spotless house and returning to one. We just returned from a nine day trip to Destin, FL and when we returned, w/ everyone helping, we had everything unpacked and suitcases put away in 45 min. b/c everything has a home and I don't have clutter. Looking forward to future content.

So excited for new videos coming up. I really enjoy the content and the longer videos. You truly are an inspiration. I’m not ready for my babies to go back to school yet, I feel like this summer went by so quickly. My kids are still little 2,6,7 so I find myself doing pretty much everything for them. I try to get them involved in helping me clean so that they can learn. My husband Sam does help a lot as well so we are very fortunate to have a hands on daddy. He does work long shifts as well 12-18 hours but still manages to help. We took a short vacation this year to Panama City Beach but we are going to Saint Augustine for thanksgiving break and next summer we’re going to Key West for about 2 weeks. We live in Georgia so we have a ton of places here to visit. We also love to go to the mountains in the fall. We love visiting Helen GA in the fall. 🥰 Blessings to you and your family!

I also like to clean and neaten before going on a trip. It REALLY paid off a month ago when my husband and myself came home and brought COVID with us! No energy and 10 hour naps made cleaning and laundry impossible for a few days. Back to normal now and thankful for the vaccines and boosters we got, as we are in our 70's and weathered well. WELCOME back!!! Viewing your previous videos saved the days when i missed you so much!

My husband and I are going to Greece and Israel with our pastor in October. We were scheduled to go in 2020. The only thing I would add to what you have shown is clean out the refrigerator. I’m willing to bet you do that as well. I also stop mail and paper if we’re going to be gone more than a couple of days. I am looking forward to your future videos. I feel like an old friend is back!

Just so enjoying this! This summer we went to Yosemite, California. My goodness. I’ve literally been all around the world! Yosemite was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been too. Your kiddos are probably a great age for that trip. We have littles but they hung in there with us and we backpacked my littlest babe. We are also headed to Palm Desert soon also.

We went and stayed in Montana in early July for a week while our older kiddos went on a backpacking trip, and I forgot to run the dishwasher before we left 🤢 I always try and make note of how my house smells when we come home because we have dogs and I go nose blind. Anyways all I smelled was week old dishes and yup time to shampoo the carpet!

I do the same thing before I leave for vacation! It gives me peace knowing I have clean sheets when I get home. And a clean house.

Great to have you back. I loved your Fall to Christmas planning/organising videos last year. We just started the school holidays here in UK and took my parents to a forest lodge with hot tub which was relaxing. My 13 yr old is going in a watersports break with friends and I’m going to London with my sister which I’m looking forward to. We haven’t been out of the country for 4 years (house move and Covid) so we are really excited to go to Cape Verde. We have 10 nights and arrive back only a day before school so I need to get super organised. I too wash bedding/towels etc and leave the house as tidy/clean as possible. I organise an online grocery delivery for the day we return. I will also check the calendar for birthdays etc in Sept and get organised for those before we go away

Great video, it motivated me to finish some last things to do for today. I like to get the house clean and organize before I leave for vacation too. This video gave me a full belly laugh! My husband is always like why do you work yourself so crazy hard before we leave? Somebody who gets it! 💡 Yes I change beds do all the laundry clean the fridge all the things! If I'm feeling it I even try to plan a simple meal for the day we return even if that's pasta and marinara but at least a plan to try to avoid takeout. 💙 I loved seeing the dogs jump on the bed when you were making it😂 our dogs do that every time! 🐾

Hi Melissa! for me, I clear out my fridge, I try to finish off what ever food I can from the fridge week before I leave and the rest like fruits and vegetables like that I would give to my mom. any frozen goods I will also give as well, point is that I have my fridge and freezer emptied and clean before I go. In the past, there was thunderstorm/lightning while we were gone, that triggered the electric in my home and sad to say that all my food was all gone and not to mention, the first thing as I dropped my bags after the vacation, I rolled up my sleeves, ventilate the whole kitchen, start to clean, disinfect the fridge and freezer, feels like CSI only the murder victim is the fridge! lols Nasty! but lesson learnt ey.

Have to laugh about the car. Guess you aren’t a farm girl. I have about 3 small squares of concrete on my 10 acres and drive a muddy, rocky road before I see any pavement. Cats and skunks fight on my porch. But I do keep the cobwebs off and take my truck through a car wash once a week.
