Days of Z (DayZ Live Action Fan Film)

We at Fleet Productions remember playing DayZ when it first came out at the tail end of 2013, and ever since we knew we wanted to make a fan film. The hardest part was finding the sweet spot between sticking to the exactness of the in-game universe and adding your own input and creativity, but we're confident that we found a medium that gamers and non-gamers alike will enjoy.
The film depicts the story of 4 survivors who come in contact with one another during an apocalyptic crisis and how they will not only interact with one another, but face the threats of infection and other hostile groups.
This was very much like our experience playing the game in many regards, and we wanted to share the story with you. Thanks for watching and please subscribe!

I cant believe I have only just come across this. It was a fantastic short movie with great acting. The plot, themes, storyline, camera angles were all spot on. I love the ending as, as you said, 'Would be the most likely outcome in real life'. Massive well done to all involved, lets see if we can get this re-ignited on KZfaq and get some more views.

What would have been a little more realistic is some desync in the filming , a gun glitch , death by just standing there , a zombie running in circles , an actor standing putting his gun on his shoulder then getting it out over and over ......i could go on right ?

that was an epic movie^^ but honestly, in the end i would've expected the black dressed guy to kill that psycho and save marc, since he left him alive once^^ i would've found that a cooler end but still well done :)

***** Haha that was actually an end that we shot, as well as another where a zombie comes and eats them anyways. We figured this one was most accurate to what would actually happen in DayZ though.

this was really well done, it would be amazing if you could maybe give a behind the scenes video or just some tips on making a film like this, that would be great. Also a recommendation i would give is to add some "room tone" when people arnt talking that way the audio dosnt feel so disconnected from each other

Very well put together compared to the others I've seen. Nice job. The only thing I noticed is that the zombies are a little more of a threat in the film than they are in the game. They usually can't take down multiple geared guys lol.

Well done film. I actually love this, I've been watching alot of "DayZ Shorts" and this is byfar the best one, but the ending was a little disapointing, I was hoping for someone to save Marc, and the other dude that got captured, but, I guess its exactly true, this is how DayZ works, great film, Looking foward to seeing some of them G36's in game, that'd be cool, they most likely will add it, hopefully atleast, anyways, very VERY well done film, the sounds were a little off, but other then that it was a amazing film. What cameras/lenses did you guys use for this film? I'm seriously impressed with the image quality. The dynamic range in the opening forest scenes is huge! One of the most professional-looking post apocalyptic films on youtube. :)
