Celebrity couple celebrates five tears of wedded bliss, a 23-year age difference, a baby, and two hectic careers.
Award-winning singer-songwriter Gary Chapman and his wife, Nashville Wives star Cassie Piersol Chapman, say they're so in love, and one wedding wasn't enough.
"We got married Dec. 22, 2008, in a tiny ceremony my father performed," says Gary, 56, a five-time Grammy-nominated, seven-time Dove Award-winning artist who recently released his first album in a decade, The Truth, featuring Alison Kraus, Sarah Chapman, Cassie Chapman, Rebecca Lynn Howard, and Tanya Tucker. He has written for Kenny Rogers, Alabama, Wynonna, and others.
"The next year, we had a mountaintop wedding with our friends in Breckenridge, Colo. Cassie's grandmother married us at a Renaissance fair, and last year, we tied the knot in Las Vegas. What can I say -- we like getting married!"
It's just one of the ways the couple keeps the romance alive, says Cassie, 33, who stars in the new TNT show Private Lives of Nashville Wives, premiering Feb. 24.
"Weddings are a beautiful celebration of our love for each other and a reminder that this is serious!" she says. "Many people get married, and they're divorced two years later. We don't plan to be among them!"

It's so easy to gossip about people when you don't know them, especially if they're famous.
@teresafarrell6457

Gossip? To be "famous" you WILL be required to sign a deal to make Christ LAST in your life. Being a club member (👌🤫) is a requirement as well. Just because someone CLAIMS to be a "Christian" does not make it so. Like people who point out others "gossiping" while they, themselves are practicing idol worship.

Speaking as a Christian, after reading so many judgmental comments on this page, I clearly understand why people don't want to have anything to do with the Christian community. People make mistakes! People make wrong judgments! People sin. THIS is why Jesus went to the cross so that we would be forgiven of our sins. He knew we wouldn't be perfect; and when we're not, we should run straight TO Him. So many 'alleged" Christians seem to get such a rush from pointing out the WRATH of God and how He's going to "GET YOU" for every sin you commit. Those people seem to not even WANT to present the LOVE of God. He hates sin but loves the sinner. Yet these super-judgmental people who can quickly find a scripture verse for every single judgment against a 'flawed' believer seem to think they are accurately representing a loving Father. (OK. So this is the space for the judgmental Christians to present the verse about how Jesus turned over tables and ran out the money changers)!! SMH. I WISH I could be "flawless" as some of the alleged Christians who have obviously NEVER made a mistake or bad judgment in their entire life. I truly see why former Christians so easily walked away from Christianity, and why people on the outside looking in don't want to have anything to do with us. If Amy has asked God and Gary for forgiveness, and Gary has asked God and Amy for forgiveness, God is pleased/satisfied. Neither Gary nor Amy owe ME an apology. Nobody knows what went on in their house or their marriage except them. Let it go, people! They're all happy and cordial with each other at this point. Just go on about your business and focus on how you can do your best to represent the LOVE of Christ to everyone you encounter. Concentrating daily on trying to be the best we can be in Christ (DESPITE OUR FLAWS & OCCASIONAL UNGODLY DECISIONS) should be so consuming that we won't even have enough time to try to figure out other people's lives whom God has forgiven.

Shame on you for perpetuating that lie. My first wife fell in love with a friend of mine and decided to spend her life with him. If that breaks your heart, I’m sorry…but it’s the truth. Beautifully, everything and everyone is forgiven and it’s the best story of redemption I’m aware of. I pray the best for you regardless of your thoughts towards me. BTW, this is Gary. By the way for those that didn’t know Vince was single 2 yrs raising his daughter by himself, he waited yrs for the call to be inducted into the HALL OF FAME, that call came when the day would be the same day Jenny had a grade school talent show he turned down that call to be inducted into the H.O.FAME he went to Jenny’s school show, that was priority to Vince as a father raising Jenny himself at that time.

"God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?" James 4:12 Gary and his marriage will be fine if he remembers these two things. When asked which is the greatest commandment, Jesus replied, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Matt 22:37-40

Everybody has an opinion and is entitled to it. Both Grant and Gill have fabulous voices. But I know someone who has the most beautiful voice God ever created--and he won't be in heaven either. Oh, that would be the former Anointed Cherub that Covereth. Beauty, charm, and talent have nothing to do with it. Go find out what Gill had to say about his "church." And if you think Amy is a Christian--other than culturally--you might want to read some of her interviews, too... Some people were surprised lately--July 2021. But I knew which team she was on way back in the 80's, when I listened to and read some of her interviews. Christianity served her well. It got her in the door of the CCM industry. And after "Baby, Baby" she had it made and could cross over! She sort of kind of pretended for just a little while after that... The 2016 album left no doubt.

I don't think it was about his treatment of Amy. It was that he was using drugs. And she fell for Vince. I think Gary and Amy were both wrong. And were wrong for getting married in the first place, bc neither were ready or on solid ground. But they did and then had children. He should have gone to rehab, but didn't. She should not have had feelings for Vince, but she did. And only God knows if either are actually saved. I would guess yes. Hopefully. But that doesn't make them living examples for us. Yes, definitely hearsay... not the fact that he openly admits in THIS interview that Cassie is his third wife, that he was trying to have a child (even though he has several children with his first two wives that he barely sees), that he "screwed up" with the first two wives (because of his alcoholism and drug use) or that they met while he was doing the VERY godly work of producing a Hooter's calendar, for which Cassie was "modeling"... you know, because all good Christian girls pose half-naked for men's pleasure. Gary deserves some happiness. He loved Amy Grant way back when he was somebody and she was still nobody. He didn't want a divorce, but she was carrying on with Vince Gill (and his wife finally left him) and legally, he couldn't stop her. He has every right to remarry and be happy! Amy Grant is a skank, and so is her current husband. Both of them admitted on Larry King long ago that they didn't leave unhappy marriages. They just left for something better. I guess that means they both "married up." They left behind spouses who were musically talented and had supported them in their careers; but those spouses were not superstars, so they got dumped. I hope that Gary really did get a Christian wife who loves him (and didn't marry him just to use him...) this time.

You might want to read a writeup on his side of the story in this article The Story of Us by Melissa Riddle in April 7, 2001. A telling article. It made me change my mind about him, even if I was an Amy fan. He makes sense and he is more godly than what he is portrayed to be. Peace.

It's hard not to be critical of Gary Chapman since he began his third marriage less than 10 years after his first divorce. I think he has issues with being alone because he married Pittman 15 months after his divorce from Amy Grant, and married his current wife Cassie less than a year after his divorce from Pittman. Should he still be considered marriage material if he and Cassie get a divorce in the next few years? Malachi 2:16 mentions that God hates divorce. Additionally, Luke 16:18 says that a man should not divorce his wife other than for marital unfaithfulness; if not for that reason and he remarries, he's committing adultery. So, unless Gary was cheating on Jennifer when they divorced, or vice versa, then as a Christian his reason for said divorce wouldn't be plausible. Meanwhile, Amy Grant is going on nearly 17 years of marriage to her second husband Vince Gill. Is Chapman marrying for love, or because he's unwilling to cope with being a bachelor for longer than so many months at a time? Look at Jennifer Lopez. Since 1994, she's been married 4 times, and been in 3 additional relationships that got super serious, or to the point of being engaged, but didn't go beyond it prior to the break up. Anyone would be insane to look to her for relationship advice.

He's the problem because he refuses to see that marriage is not for males in today's world. If he was smart he would have just walked away from that after the first one

+ heaven y-shen REALLY? I'm a 3rd wife.. and 2 wives cheated on him because he was away in the Military.. that was HIS fault, right? Since, you know since you lived with them and everything right? Jesus said to Judge RIGHTEOUS judgment. That's why you *stay out* of other people's marriages.. *common sense*

It were obvious that Amy (I love Amy)were going out on Gary way before he ever did anything, just by his reaction in oh compared to hers. Gary said it himself and Amy has always been pretty much clam on the subject in of itself there. Gary were always open on it there. Time for you girls to stop being sexist towards Gary. Amy were banging on Vince while she were still married to Gary. Pretty obvious. Amy were the cheater. I know that it is hard for you all to take. But Amy Grant were a cheater. And what else, it is time to get over it. Gary and Amy obviously have. Gary wanted the marriage, Amy didn't anymore.

Gary got on many internet chats and ragged on Amy for years. So many snide comments about her. It kinda let you know what Amy was putting up with along with his love and humor. Amy and Vince said many times they never did anything physically before the divorce. But Amy allowed herself to gravitate towards Vince. To me it was pretty organic and natural because of the lack at home. There seemed to be so many walls and barriers in their marriage. It just wasn't there anymore. Tough to continue when you feel kinda dead with your partner for a variety of reasons. If I was Gary, I'd be hurt and would have greived, but hopefully would understand if my wife was not on the same path and needed to continue down another... let her go. Why would you want another person to be miserable just for your sake? Seems selfish. Glad they all moved on and I bet they all say it was for the best.

Yes, they were cheating. Ask Janis Oliver---the former wife of Vince Gill. She was beautiful, talented, and loving. Gill himself said that he did not leave an unhappy marriage. It was a normal marriage with good times, and some bad--just like any marriage. But Janis was not the superstar that Amy was. Janis found the love letter to Amy in his gold bag and confronted him. Gill will keep denying the sex part to save face for Amy; but no one on this Earth believes him. Everybody in the music industry knew what was going on. Gary didn't want the divorce. He did get snippy about it. He was crushed! And re: Gary and drug use: he never ratted her out, but if you think that good old Amy didn't toke and joke, just read her comments about being thrilled to smell pot and getting so disappointed when other musicians put the pot and Coke (cocaine) away when she would show up. She was DISAPPOINTED. So you know that after a while they didn't disappoint her...
