Richard Cooper, what a star performance. On only his second appearance, battling with the lead group and leading the race on several occasions. Shame to see it all end at lap 25 when he slid off. Great Effort Nonetheless.

An incredible early showing by British first-timer Richard Cooper. He is the most versatile rider going, track or road, whatever size of engine, just outstanding. Gutted that mechanical failure ended his race early.

@@dartmoordave My era started when Scott Russell was racing the ZX-7r vs Duhamel, Slight, Picotte, Polen, Smith, and directly against Eddie Lawson, must have watched it a couple hundred times. Sheene is a known name to me though, I'm sure he was great.

@@dartmoordaveWhen Sheene had that career ending ISH off. His legs and pelvis looked like a Meccano set. Dreadful injuries and an absolute warrior to come back and race and still nick a bird or 10😂.

When Ducati wins by over 1/2 minute its boring. The bikes aren't close enough to keep it interesting enough for fans to go watch it, that could be a reason for the empty seats.

I feel absolutely horrible for Richie Escalante he was about to hold 2nd and his gas sputters at the worst time, seeing his own teammate T. Scott pass him and the 8 other bikers pass him while he is wiggling the tank to get every bit of gas left

Excellent coverage of the cool part of the race...pit stops. It wen t from close race lap 16 to 5 second lead lap 27 after a minute of showing guys picking up their bikes. Moto America you dropping balls smh

I've lost track of what series this race is even associated with...are these 600's or SuperBikes...AMA SuperBike? I raced in the '75 200 on a privateer TZ350 (D) sponsored by Island Yahama (Merritt Island, Florida), as a just turned 18 year old Sr. in H.S. There were 54 entries and I started 52nd as a back marker (I had raced in two amateur 50 mile prelims earlier in the week and got a podium finish in one that earned me my pro/Expert 250/350cc Road Race license, so we were allowed to race in the 200 as back markers. the Kawi 750's/500's were much faster than the TZ350 and the new TZ700/750 (Only KR and Ago had the 750 that year) were way faster than the Kawi's. We did finish though in 37th place.

No 750cc. The GSXR was 600cc. All the engines are limited on RPM for their respective engine types

what rules did they make that hampered Indian this year and benefited Harley? where it is, they shortened the races again this year, because the Harleys may not finish a 10 lap race without blowing.. One of the jokes going around in the pits was-one of the rule changes under consideration was going to be, Indian was not going to be permitted to use oil in their engines..

Daytona holds about 115k fans in the stands, about 160k total, if you fill the infield. And most of those sightlines are geared toward watching action on the superspeedway, not the road course...
