[UPDATE]: The Anniversary events trigger from time to time(at night) in certain areas of the map, opening all the anniversary crates in one area while the audio file plays and the new fireworks explode. It's definitely older than 10yrs, but for some reason the Devs don't count DayZ from it's release, only DayZ SA

From the rather bleak period that was 2015/2016 to the absolute golden age DayZ finds itself in now, it’s definitely been a roller coaster.

@@limitlessapocalypse2702 the game had a peak player count of a little over 4000 in 2017. It’s peak in the last 30 days was 67000. The game is quite literally in the best state it has ever been in terms of players and in overall quality.

10 Years man.. I still remember the excitement from back then for DayZ Standalone. Crazy how this game made life more bearable for the past 10 Years, even beyond this time looking back at the peak times of DayZ mod. So glad the devs work for it is unfolding to the positive. Thanks DayZ and WoBo for sticking around all this time, I was 13 when DayZ Standalone released. Life has definitely changed, but my love to play the game hasn’t. 😊

Wobo there’s an event with the new items you were talking about, me and this dude got it today at stary sobor, it was at the church it played some insanely loud music and voice clips from the devs, also had loads of the crates with T-shirt’s spawned in them. And that firework you mentioned, The whole thing was really trippy and made for some lols with my new bro.

@@linkudinku373let’s hope they finish their game . Dayz roadmaps years ago were littered with awesome features that never came to fruition . Dayz is just a run and gunner game as of right now . Some features were missing still : soft skills / careers , boats bikes helicopters and even horses (all discussed back in 2016 or so) , dynamic roaming zombie hordes (to take people away from the shoot everyone they see approach, players were told they would need to work together to take a horde down), advanced cooking and medical systems , more variety in drivable vehicles and armored vehicles , more maps (for free , not this paid dlc nonsense). There’s gotta be a dozen other features I’ve forgotten that they cut over the years , as I’ve been playing since day one 2013 (or technically before that when the bootleg version of dayz SA came out and we were all at the airfield killing eachother with m4s), and it seems that many amazing features were back burnered and then just forgotten altogether .

I've only been playing for 6 years, but I've had lots of ups and downs. Still my favorite game. We've watched it grow and change like a child. Best wishes for more updates, or DayZ 2 one day. 😊

I've only played 4 years. 6 isn't much more. There's a shitload of community members and streamers who have played since the start of DayZ which is why we say "only" said amount of years

I’ve been playing for a year now. I love this game. I’m still bitter they did a 40% off halloween sale the day after I paid full price (and a 50% a week after I got Livonia) but it’s worth every penny. I’ve made friends, had adventures, and as much as this game has caused me major trust issues and trauma, I play it all the same, just as I did when I first got it.

I don't know if you've tried but steam has given me money back if I buy something the literal day before a sale in the past. Obviously it might be too late now but helpful for anyone in the future.

Been playing standalone since the very beginning... Insane to think how far this game has come, I remember Zombies just walking right through walls, Soda can sounds being global for the whole server, etc. So many great memories over the years with many more to come

I was passing stary with a friend we heard drumming beats & saw lights when we pulled up we found the 10th anniversary sea chests opened full with t shirts. After taking one the audio started to play and a fireworks show began it was awesome ngl

Such a cool update. I was playing last night wondering when I noticed music playing I heard heavy bass it was the event you were mentioning really cool thing to see and it got a lot of players interacting, which is always good.

Anyone new to dayz, small tip. If u wanna grind grenades during the Xmas period then livonia Xmas tree grind is a good shout, topolin/west area is very fruitful and quick grind.

Headbands can actually spawn in hunting places! Found around 3 before in hunters lodges. (Was alone in the server)

After all the times I watched Lirik own geared players with the fire extinguisher, I still can't believe it's not back as an OP Melee weapon. He was kind of a big deal in the early popularisation of DayZ, and still has an impact each time he returns to it.

I've been playing cherno for over 3 years. I still haven't searched the whole map. I get stuck in combat on the cost. 👍. I'm glad I didn't quit the game for good when I first started. Can't wait to see what the future holds for the best survival game out there. This has been dayz bestvyear yet hopefully it gets better 🙏

I played on official tonight and it got dark and loud music played and the devs was talking in when they started Dayz lol there were lights and a horde of zeds 😂 also chests tht lighted up. Dayz shirts inside! Happy 10 yrs my friends

Large gift boxes spawn considerably more loot than the other variant of gift boxes. Can confirm that the large gift box drops the 20 round DMR mag and NBC gear (yellow and military). I haven't seen the SVD mag or plate carrier, but I have only done two rounds of the christmas tree. There were definitely more than 10 gift boxes, but maybe maximum 10 large gift boxes.

Can you make a vid about pox disease, like how long you need to be in gas to get it. Or if you are in for a moment without getting the disease is there a timer before you can do it again? Like a hidden stat/timer for getting disease and cooldown to not get it. Hope it makes sense, I have hard time explaining my thoughts.

I saw and heard the fireworks event. I just spawned into the hospital in Cherno at night time. I immediately heard fireworks and all kinds of techno music coming from town hall/city square at the Christmas tree. As I got closer, I heard the developers talking. I’m thinking that I set off the event when I spawned in.

The even happens around after the sunset at the chest it blasts music and if you stay around long enough you’ll hear messages from the dev’s and the sea chests open fire works launch and the town square will be lit up

Found a Christmas Headband in a land_house_1w02 earlier, so they do spawn in civilian areas, mine was in a tier 2. Edit: found another one on a tier 2 land_boat_small1 just minutes later.

I remember playing Dayz when it first came out back when I was 7 I had a submachine gun, (I’m pretty sure it was the rak but I’m not sure). I came across a group of 3 while I was traveling down a road. I shot the first guy dead before his buddies knocked me unconscious. The last thing I heard before I bled out/was executed was them discussing whether they could save their buddy, during which one of them said “I dunno man he looks pretty dead to me” as his buddy tried to resuscitate him. I honestly miss those days sometimes, I hope they release like 1 or 2 legacy servers one day so I could play pre 0.63 again.

Man i remember the first time i started playing not knowing where to go or what to do the friendy guy i met in my first town who couple of minutes later got shot and killed by some dude in a next house then running through the woods while a guy was shooting and chasing me going trough the woods at night not knowing if im gonna encounter something dayz is just the best

i started playing during the mod days, started playing again recently...uninstalled it like 3 times. stuck with it for a week and its been quite enjoyable so far. much has changed since the early days, ton of new items and functionality seems like the game became quite big over the years.
