The back and forth between the vocalist Robert Plant and the guitarist Jimmy Page is called: "call and response," and it is something Led Zeppelin did very often, both in their studio tracks, and spontaneously in live performances.

Yes, the "call and response" between the vocals and the guitar, but also, listen carefully and there is one going on at the same time between the bass and the drums, very intricate and deep technique between 4 master musicians!

@@JMBOYTVand that call and response came from American blues music. Our musical history is so rich it’s stupefying.

Plant once commented on his responses to Jimmy’s guitar. Basically, he said his voice is his instrument so it’s his instrumental contribution to the band.

I think this song shows each members talents perfectly in one song. Great vocals, awesome bass lines, mad guitar solo, and don't even get me started on those drum fills.

This 69 year old woman has to remind the world-especially the ladies born in my era- just how crazy hot Robert Plant was!! That hair, that voice, those jeans! Mercy! He still sings today and still has that hair and a mighty voice!

Such a perfect song!! John Bonham - Bonzo - on drums is beyond description. Not only is there call and response between the vocals and guitar but also between the bass and the drums and the guitar, bass and drums at a few points. Master musicians! Thanks!

Great song! Yeah, no one could emote better with their voice than Robert Plant! If you really want a charge, to see Page shred the guitar, as well as play it with a violin bow (creating that "psychedelic" sound midway through the song), and to see what kind of improvisation they were capable of, watch their live Madison Square Garden performance of Dazed and Confused. Will blow your mind. :) Edit: If you decide to listen to their live performance, would love to see your reaction to it.

I grew up with LZ and it gives my heart a smile whenever I see a younger generation turning on to this iconic music and keeping it alive. Make sure you view their 2012 tribute at the kennedy Center, complete with strings, 2 vocal choirs and Heart (Ann Wilson) leading on the vocal and deceased drummer John Bonham's son, Jason Bonham on drums (You can't watch it without getting emotional... guaranteed). A few suggestions: Trampled Underfoot, D'yer Mak'er, and In the Evening. Great reaction, TY.

The drummer is doing an amazing job on this song. I know all of these songs but I realize it's been a long time that I didn't take the time to listen all of them. I have so many CD of so many bands and singers and I stay up to date with what is being done now in terms of music and the older we get, the more memories resurface. People we no longer see, others who died, unions that didn't work out, trips, you'll see JM music and aging go together, memories, scars, love, etc..

How about Jimmy Page on guitar? I guess you have, and many have, heard of the guitarist Jimmy Page being one of the best, if not the best around. He shows it in this song. And Bonzo on the drums. Then there's Robert's unearthly voice, and JPJ in the background- filling in the bass/keyboard sound.

I hope you review How Many More Times , the final song off the first album. Keep reviewing Led Zeppelin...I love seeing a newbie listen , embrace , and love the greatest Rock band that ever was. 🔥

Led Zeppelin added the entire Concert Film for Celebration Day on their Official KZfaq Channel last month. You can watch the entire concert ( they do this song live, and you can see Pagey 'bowing his guitar'. This concert was a benefit for Ahmet Ertegun and his various charities in America and UK this was also the first time Led Zeppelin played as Led Zeppelin (John Bonham's son, Jason was their drummer) he's as talented as his father !!! Led Zep disbanded in the Fall of '80 after his death in September. All 4 were Equally Important to the dynamics of the band. And that assessment comes from themselves, they felt that to continue without Bonzo Led Zeppelin wouldn't be complete.
