I realized Floyd one of the calmest fighters. I don’t watch fighting like that so big fans don’t @ me. However every time I watch Floyd he’s always relaxed and responds with accuracy in the right moment. It’s almost mechanical.

Yep Floyd's greatest weapon aside from his smarts, was his focus and composure. In Boxing Focus is super important, you can so easily just go auto pilot because your nervous.

3 rounds in the video and both men are amazing. Maidana has a great gameplan to pressure Floyd inside to kinda limit his counter power but Floyd's defense while taking shots is still immaculate.

He was terrible. Can't box at all. Just put his head down and threw wild punches. I don't even think he hit Floyd once. He punched his elbows and the ropes.

He must have thrown 50 punches from top to bottom hitting the head and occipital area, I don't think it's very regular, anyone can hit you if he starts punching you as well where he couldn't, at this point punches in the balls also count, shameful, so many punches thrown on the head

@@user-yj6rz6qj6c Mayweather is so sharp defensively and has so many subtleties, he's one of the few men on the planet who could make it look like Maidana "is just throwing wild punches". Anyway, I said Maidana's one of my favourites of all time, I didn't say he was the best boxer of all time. He let his hands go at any opportunity and was never knocked out, it was always a lot of fun watching him go after his opponent, most of whom were fighting simply to make it to the end of the bout.

Conclusión, que si en el boxeo no se puediera abrazar y se pudiera dar golpes en toda la cabeza, floyd estuviera noqueado en el 3round, eso si, se llevo su buen rodillazo para que dejara de ser tan p3rr#

This is exactly how you need to fight Floyd, you’re not going to outbox him, you absolutely have to go balls to the wall and pressure him, rough him up, put yourself in danger just to land a a solid shot, you have to be relentless and also have great stamina. Floyd didn’t think Maidana could put pressure on him like this, but the 2nd fight he was prepared and it showed in his adjustments.

22:03 : notice how Floyd does his famous pull-counter with right-hand and hits Maidana. Just a few seconds after, Floyd does it again but Maidana dodges it and proceeds to counter with cross and hook, but somehow Floyd sees it coming WHILE doing his pull-counter and dodges it too. Incredible stuff from Floyd, his reaction time was truly insane.

You should watch Mayweather’s fights against guys like Philip Ndou, Emmanuel Augustus, Corrales and Jesus Chavez - Floyd was far more aggressive back then

Pretty Boy aka young Floyd Mayweather was a well rounded boxer-puncher, while Money May aka Current Mayweather is a counterpuncher/out-boxer.

True but so did Mayweather if you noticed that in this fight Mayweather put himself on the ropes a lot & he gave a few rounds away than usual so in a way he made look competitive & that's why Maidana did his thing because in the rematch Mayweather didn't leave it up to chance

Right composure is the right word. Most other boxers get annoyed.... frustrated.... they might just try to psyche themselves up like I can DO IT I'm better than this..... but Floyd maintains his composure and just figures out the answer.... he's very technical precise... his offensive fighting style is very text book and consistent... Anyway composure is the exact word for it.

He absolutely does not. Maybe you can make a case for the one judge scoring it a tie live, but being able to rewatch it it’s very clear that the fight wasn’t that close. Maidana won maybe 4 rounds. You cannot forget to score defense. If a fighter throws 30 punches and lands 10 vs the other fighter throwing 18 and landing 9, the 9 is most likely winning the round. More accurate, more elusive, and comparable in punches landed. The crowd tends to sway peoples opinions and make you think punches are landing.

Relentless pressure + heart v unshakeable composure + stamina Maidana eventually got tired but credit to him, as it wasnt as easy a fight for Mayweather as many had expected. Great fight! The rematch was neccesary

Til dis i still remember watching maidana winning this fight. Landed more punches and pushed the pace more and made it is fight more. The rematch however Floyd was able to control the fight by hugging every time Chino got close
