I think Ababiy needs to change his trainer. He’s going to get massacred against a top fighter. He’s got the attributes, he just needs better guidance.

All top boxers have Homer Simpson syndrome. Dr Hibbert: Homer, you have an unusual amount of fluid surrounding your brain. I could wollup you all day with this surgical 2x4...but I have an appointment. NA needs to learn when to unleash his power. And to stop walking into jabs when he's tired.

Juli 97, I agree. He leaves himself completely open when throwing his punches. Also, his body shots are pretty hard (not as hard as those fighters laying down made it seem) but he punches palm side up when he goes to the head. He still punches pretty well but he needs to turn over on his punches more if he wants to have power against better fighters. And as the commentators mentioned, he'll need to have a game plan and not just wing punches at better fighters. So yeah, right now he's a whole lot of hype.

Na, he never had trouble with him. Dominated the fight quite comfortably. It's just that people expected the KO and if anything, Nakita was forcing the KO instead of letting it happen naturally. There’s a reason his camp is still putting him in 6 round fights with nobodies in his 10th fight. The kid needs a LOT of work, especially fighting smarter in the ring and understanding how to put an attack together. Takes way too many shots so needs defensive work also.

You watch his fights with KO’s, the entire comment section says he’s the next champ. You watch his fight with a decision, everyone knows better than him. He doesn’t need to switch coaches, you don’t know who trains him and his performance is ultimately up to his commitment and the work he puts in, not his coaches
@alexandrbabenkoIG
@alexandrbabenkoIG 2 жыл бұрын
I know this is hella late but I’m trained by his coach too, and honestly it’s the best coach I could’ve asked for (Aurleano Sosa), when Nikita works with sosa he’s lethal, but sometimes his father likes to take over and I feel that’s why there is a illusion that he is not improving. His next fight is on the canelo-Bivol card

Without at least a knockdown or two the decision is usually going to go with the belt holder. That said it was pretty much a tie. If you count actual "boxing" then Maddox had the edge. Ababiy is certainly a power puncher but doesn't jab much and doesn't seem to feel the need to set up his combinations more. The day he fights a fellow power puncher who has greater speed and agility White Chocolate may regret his present training strategy. He might be still learning at 22 yo but I don't buy it. He's appears more set in his ways than even Maddox at thirty-four. It's worked for him so far but could be in for a rude surprise soon. I hope he doesn't let a string of wins go to his head and not work some more on his weaknesses.
