I feel bad for the pilot in the end of the scene.. He could have just died peacefully but he woke up. He was in shock, tried desperately to save his and other people's lifes but failed. Must be the most horrifying moments, last moments of his life.

@@ahora1026 it wouldn't because only a pilot can take a corrective action. It is not like autopilot where a pre set course is setup. I was travelling once in a b747 club class which is upstairs in b747. I was sitting in the first row. And at the time of landing in an airport at the vicinity of which construction of a totally new airport was underway (runway being the same for both, only completely new terminal) I could hear terrain, pull up so clearly through the cockpit door and I gotta say I was a little worried but had a smooth landing. I guess it went off with all the cranes etc that was near..

It took me 20 years to realize there was absolutely no need for Ambrose to crash this plane. He could've taken the chimera from the scientist on the way to the airport, on a toilette or somewhere else and it would've been so much easier for him. 😉

I realized it was because of the plane crash sequence, so I re-watched one, and realized I still couldn't figure out the plot. This movies just been evading me all these years.

The part at the very end when the 1st officer woke up and tried to do something caught my attention. He threw the throttle levers forward. That would make things worse. It would have made the plane go faster. They should have made him try to pull-up, bank, or chandel (both at the same time).

It would've been cool if the Ethan mask had the short hairstyle from Mi1, so that actual Ethan's long hairstyle comes as a surprise to the audience. Like a mini plot twist, except not plot. Fashion twist.

Tell you what, that’s exactly what John Woo wanted in the first place! He says in the DVD commentary he wanted a short hair Tom Cruise in the intro scene so that the character appeared different afterwards, like a ´fresh’ take. Great minds think alike!

I am sorry, but I have to disagree with all of you. This is the worst of the series and this opening scene clearly illustrates that there is terrible writing to behold. Why in the hell would this cartoon of a villain blow up a plane to get what he wants, and everything after it had nothing to do with this plane crash.

Lots of twos here (copies and replicas, etc.). Its Oceania. Right at the equator, 3 to 5 hour flights from one country to the next, Marianas Trench, and lots and lots of supertyphoons and tropical storms north of 200 miles per hour in winds. Tough place to live, but nice to know. You need a generator, family, friends, and lots of water for emergency outages. Electricity can be a luxury sometimes.

M:I 1 & 2 are my favorits, especially the 2. movie. Luther as hacker, Nyah as the Hunt girl and a lot of sneaky masked confusions. The stunts are great but not overstated. I don't like the current team with Ilsa and Benji and I miss the sneaky masked game and Luther. The 4th one was also okay but 3rd and 6th a mess for me.

I always enjoyed this movie and though that the bad guy, Dougray Scott was ok. Then I read after the first X-Men move that he was their first choice for Wolverine however Mr Scott had to go back to M.I. 2 to do re-shoots & they went with Hugh Jackman. I think we dodged a bullet with that one.

Interesting facts. Hugh Jackman is the best Wolverine imo. I agree
