You have to add the capacitors to filter ripples.

first check primary battery voltage that is 9v battery if it shows under voltage then output may reduce ....then change the 9v battery

3 v output means ur 7805 ic is damaged?. So replace it.

I have 9V giving 5.76V terminal voltage... Will I get 5v if I connect that to 7805?

Thanks you this help me for costplay .. but he only give 5 v . but in my costplay have like 4 aaa batterie to make 6 volt . So If i want to keep same power with 9 volt i wonder what i need to do

use a regulator that regulates to 6V instead of 5V

Technology Guide Thanks!! I am trying to add a Bluetooth transmitter to a portable wired speaker but i am unable to find a spot from where I can pull 5v dc from the amplifier for the USB Bluetooth transmitter. Can you help me on this ?

Shashi Kamble do u want add wireless Bluetooth for wired device then you can find input.supply whether it is 12v or 9v then you can use regulator ic which is 7805ic for 5 volts

Technology Guide Agreed but I am not able to locate an point which has stable 12v or 9v dc. Not sure if the main supply of the amplifier is AC or DC as it counts 12v ac when i hang on multimeter to the adapter and the few spots on PCB are DC :(

i will ask question about ur device right? which type of device you are using for music and electronic board having input of DC but mains supply is AC, find out DC where out put of transformer whether its is 12v or 9v other wise you can use mobile charger for bluetooth board no problem at all ...

Yea good question ...we can convert by using resistor but not get exactly 5v and also resistor having power consuming element then better to use IC7805 ....another important purpose of this IC's are where we required exactly 5V then we can use this IC and they are used for FM Audio Board, Computer peripherals etc...

you should give connections properly as shown on video 7805 IC has 3-terminal, which is first one input of +ve and middle pin Gnd and 3rd pin has output follow this bro....
