Thank you! I know this was a labor of love. I used to care about football, and these Dallas Cowboys especially. This highlights clip shows the stark contrast to what the game is today: a game of non-excitement. Dorsett was one of the most exciting backs ever, and he's lucky to have played during a time when his talent could be expressed this way. I don't give a rat's ass about any professional sports anymore, but this was a joy to watch.

Don’t give up on professional sports in the USA. It’s not the fault of sports for the greed of the people. I’m 47 from San Antonio Tx. So need I say TD#1 , Earl #2 for me. Yes I talk about many differences in sports today. Then I realize sports and the love of the game only keep me entertained. After all ironic as it maybe. Tom Brady ended up a Buc then wins a super bowl. I use to love Brady as a Wolverine. Hated him as a patriot. I believe his 1 trophy belong to the other Wolverine. A 1 Charles Woodson. Then Brady ends up playing for my third favorite team. And wins a super bowl. Yes bucs, right after Dallas, then the giants. 👀 now I’m just supportive of the younger players and the love of the game.

Now I can see calling two teams from different CONFRENCES BUT YOU SORTA SCREWED YOURSELF BY CALL8NG OUT THE Dallas Cowboys as your favorite, because even in the AFC teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers look at Dallas as a legitimate rival even though they only play now once every 4 years!! Unless they meet in the big game at the end of the season. Dr. Dorsett! My God this Man was the most Graceful, Beautiful Pure Running Back, that I've ever had the pleasure to watch. God Bless You Touchdown Tony D.

That bring me many memories watching the great running backs of the 70 and 80 . Tony Dorsett was my favorite one. What a great runner.

Never really seen a big highlights clip of Dorsett. Thanks for posting. This is a really great watch. He’s so, so smooth and for a relatively small guy, it’s impressive that he was not afraid to stick his head in the trenches. There are two things that really strike me watching it, though. Firstly, I can’t believe how fast he is. It’s that easy kind of speed where he doesn’t look like he’s really trying. Secondly, Darrell Green must have been RIDICULOUSLY fast…

Tony Dorsett was "The Blue Streak." The sweetest most effortless elusive running back ever! Ran like bugs gliding on water - talking about poetry in perpetual motion. My favorite Cowboy ever.

Vin Scully in that game with the Cardinals called him " Anthony Dorsett" which was his son's name who played in the NFL

Actually “Anthony” is Tony Dorsett’s real name. They just called him “Tony” for short...🏈

Best Cowboys running back I ever saw play was Tony Dorsett, I was born 1962 became a fan 1968 my step father rooted for the packers being all the lumps I took being a step-son I chose the Cowboys soon as I truly understood the game Dorsett was the most feared we ever had at running back positions any play running or receiving could go the distance and boy did he 99 yard run 90 yard receiving touchdowns he could do it all only thing I seen emit was block better but I take Tony Dorsett my lead back aby day .thanks for the thrills T.D😂😂😂😂

I still watch old football games from the 70s. And 90s, just to bring memories back. Tony Dorset was such a great runner and so was Emmett Smith.

mitch dupre Thanks, it’s crazy how many long touchdowns he had.

@@DC4L99 about 10 years ago...i had time on my hands.. And averaged all the td distances for the top greats . if I remember right , Barry was 1st with around 17yds per, Tony 2nd with 14yds per . I'll have to research that again soon bc now I'm curious how my memory is lol. But I know they were 1 and 2

mitch dupre 14? Damn. Yeah he was amazing, Cowboys have been blessed with great rbs. I’m biased, but Emmitt and Tony are easily my favorite backs ever.

@@DC4L99 I always say imagine Tony in that Jimmy Johnson lead draw scheme in the 90s. Even Tony was asked during the 90s cowboys run, what he thought he woulda been worth $$ playing today (90s) for Dallas. Tony grinned : "Better call Ft Knox " lol

TD... what a fabulous, effective and exciting runner... just under 180 lbs and very seldom over 25 carries per game... Tom Landry really took care of Tony's body and career by not over using him, and the injury bug respected him, hence his stats... had he had more carries per game, probably his stats would've been even more impressive, or maybe he wouldn't been as durable... thanks TD!

I am Raiders fan. However, I loved Tony Dorsett at Pitt. Even though I could not stand Dallas, he was the primary reason I watched Cowboy games.

Thank you so much for doing this. I know this must have taken a lot of time and effort. I was eight years old when TD was a rookie, and some of my fondest moments of that season and the next seven or so seasons are all here. God bless you.

Watching Tony Dorsett run with the football was poetry in motion. If only he would have ever learned how to take a handoff he would have been even more dangerous.

Dorsett was my favorite running back too, his acceleration is the best I've ever seen in a football player, quick, fast, and strong as hell for his size. Dorsett was one of the best to ever do it.
@averydaymond15602 жыл бұрын
He was fast as everyone says but few are noting how well he could take a hit. On several of those runs a defender got a pretty good hit on Dorsett and Dorsett took it like a 230 pound fullback. He had incredible balance while getting hit by defenders.
