DCC Concepts have launched a HORNBY TXS TRIPLEX Sound Decoder stay alive capacitor unit, under their AE Model branding.
is it any good?
Hornby hasn't got any of their units available for a while longer yet... let's see!
They will be widely available from most DCC concepts stockists by May/June
but for now KMS Rail tech have them in stock

Honestly storms can be a pain, thankfully the last one didn't destroy my Internet connection (not that I'm aware of because I was at work anyway lol) but having to go through it on the way to and from work was an experience.

Craig, I really appreciate you still giving us videos when you have important medical stuff going on. Hope you get sorted asap. Glad to see you and DCC Concepts are coming up with what the market needs yet again, but I wonder if they pay you on number of name checks, if not they should 😂 the extreme soldering and free running Class 20 made up for the lack of rants, but I guess Doublo Dave will be on it soon enough 😜

As a old divers assistant, this loco i didnt like ,especially if going Bonnet first , and like ridding on a pogo stick 😂 also maybe this is why i have avoided getting a model of this loco 😂

Electronic components are on lead times of up to two years currently due to consumption by smart phone and electric car manufacturers plus the hangover of covid on production output. Its not Hornbys fault but the fact their chips are so popular is a good sign.

Get well soon, hopefully you'll be ranting away again soon! Hope that hornby embrace things like this, other companies piling in to the hm7000 technology. They could just as easily start changing firmware etc to try and keep competition out

Quality product from DCC concepts, I’ve put these in my TT120 class 43 HST’s as there’s plenty of space in them and these DCC Concepts versions are just a tiny little bit bigger than Hornby’s so they allow me to use Hornby’s in my more space restricted TT120 locos.

Thanks for bringing this content to the masses. I've taken a look at the KMS Railtech website you linked to see if they're offering a smaller stay alive (like half the size you showcased) that would be useful for TT:120 locos, but I couldn't see any other than Zen ones. Do you know if there may be one planned for the future from them?

Can anyone tell me where to buy the 3 pin plugs to fit the HM 7000 decoders or their name , as i want to fit some onto my Lias DCC stay alive currently i soldered one onto a 8 pin HM7000 and its working well

Not sure about the plugs, but like I said, DCC concepts have them 🙂 no need to solder either!

Getting components and production slots for small volume projects for model railways is still an issue. DCC concepts were completely out of stock of the ADSX units for over 12 months with no clue of availability. It happens 🙁

@@IronHorseRailways why would too much current be drawn? Would you be using lots of locomotives, coach lighting etc? Will have to look into this. I’ve never (touch wood) lol. Had an issue as far as I know. But……. Cheers matey.

@@IronHorseRailways my dcc layout is only for the locomotives and their sound. But guess if you are running buffer lights, other lights on buildings, point motors via dcc control you will be drawing a lot of current. Kinda makes sense. Also may need to look at bus spike things too. I’m getting technical now. Lol

@@supstersmodelrailways3202 DCC system matters too, that can help or hinder the situation as well mate - I have a Sprog, it's a basic system and is bare bones - so all these components are great for me!😀 But even if you do have a full system, things like spike suppression and inrush protection can make your systems life easier, and decoders far less likely to pop 😀
