It's not a glitch. It's the FLIR cameras autofocus trying to correct the saturation for the massive bright spot that just showed up. IRL the whole screen would flash along with that happening.

This view is available NOW in game. When you go to Keybindings, search the word "Option". Only 2 items will come up. The 2nd one has an acronym of V.E.T. I forget exactly what it says. Something like Video Export T..... Set a Keybinding to that one and the next time you're sitting in the RIO seat, use it! It's an overlay screen so you'll have to disable it in order to see buttons, etc in the Rio seat. Lantirn works 100% while in this mode. Changes everything and I'm addicted!

You have to set this Keybinding in both the pilot and the RIO seat if you want this view while being pilot.

It is. The gymbal of the camera couldn't autocorrect for roll when the plane passed directly over the target.

@@KomradeDoge Well. That’s a reply to a very old comment lol. I was actually talking about the visible slight rolling of the view a seen in the first few seconds of the clip as the aircraft makes fine tuning corrections to bank angle. This shouldn’t be translated through to the pod view if the pod is ground/roll stabilised. The view should stay parallel to the horizon. Which is what it does now in sim as far as I can tell.

Masking avoidance curve. It shows where masking will occur if a part of the aircraft gets in the way.

When the moving white dot (which indicates TGP bearing/elevation relative to aircraft) intersects the masking line that surrounds the edges of the display (what you're referencing) the aircraft itself will mask the view of the LANTIRN pod. It serves as a visual boundary for the pilot to be able to keep the pod's laser line of sight whilst doing maneuvers.

Go to your options and use the Search All feature. Then type VIDEO EXPORT T...... (I forget the entire line) Map a button configuration then go use it. Keep in mind this greyscale is an overlay and needs to be toggled on and off.

Top left: coordinates for the aircraft's current position. Bottom right: coordinates for what the LANTIRN is looking at. They just blurred it to make it look like the real life unclassified footage

Why are parts of this blurred? It's a simulator, ot real LANTIRN tape. And even if it was, the last Tomcat cruise was in '06 and every target in their deck is unclassified by this point.

@heatblur I've spent the last ~2+ years in mourning because the F14B is so wretched STR/ITR/TWR/lift-wise in BFM. Also the fragile flap damage model neutered it below 300kts. When you guys frailized/fragilized the F14B flaps and it went from being so awesome at BFM to being so wretched at BFM, part of me died.
