@@kaden612 you just make sure it’s in pre plan Mode I find having a waypoint plugged in helps too

A10 can do it too. Being agn 65 h Then once you have slewed your mav to the tgt hit boat switch aft then back to centre, then tms up. Will force the mav to lock form any range. Keep in mind mav had 15 second battery life. So it will stop tracking after 15 sec or so.

Well it depends what your going to hit I agree they prob wouldn’t use it on a tank but a big bunker or somthign wound t matter I would imagine. Thx for watching

Once you found your tgt hit tms fwd (up) and it will do to point track mode the pod should stop moving and your maverick will be looking where the tgp is looking

@@bulldog617sqn4 Ya as long as the tgp is in point track mode and the mavs are in Pre it worked for me. What you can try is uncaging the mavs. Or can come to this discord and you can stream so I can see discord.gg/Sazzy2Jb

For some buttons in the viper and a10 they do different things if you hold them or just press them. Tms fwd short is just pressing it once. Tms fwd long is holding it

yeah bc the second missile still had more kinematics bc it was shot closer to the target it catched up with the first missile🙂

SquillagusNiggle if you were not to do this the you would to get a lot closer also if you used a AGM-65 D it’s locked to 7 nm

@@T-Tailer how is the Mav usually guided then if not 'AREA' mode? Is it laser-guided and that's the source of the range issue? Sorry for Qs, I got the F-16 as my first 'real' module so all the systems are bewildering!

SquillagusNiggle depending one the Maverick it it or tv it will guide to where the Camera is looming however the D mav cant go into area mode you need an ir signature. So the h and other mavs your van force into into area mode so it allows you to fire from farther then if you didn’t put it in area mode.

@@SquillagusNiggle Usually you lock the Mavericks onto a heat signagure (for the ones with IR sensors) or camera tracking (for those with CCD (tv) sensors). But due to their limited resolution, you usually need to be at 7nm or closer to get a good lock, especially if there's multiple targets near each other. The larger mavericks designed for busting buildings also have a guidance system that allow them to just go to a position without a specific lock, and that area mode isn't range-limited by the need for an optical/ir lock. So as seen here, you can use that mode against vehicles too as long as they don't move, as they won't track moving targets. In addition to not tracking though, another downside is that you can't carry these larger maverics on a triple rack, so you'll be carrying a lot less of them.

SDsc0rch it’s area mode it goes to the point., what’s Unrealistic. The range? Because I’m pretty high and almost the speed of sound. Plus the Moyer if the mav it prob reaches Mach 1 and over.

SDsc0rch not sure, but if they need to engage from further it’s their. So I’d assume they would want to get closer for a better shot, they might use this in buildings because they can’t move lol

I'm sure IRL they don't use this mode for vehicles, static objectives for sure, but not the H which has a very low explosive power.

@@0Ignition0 low explosive power? Hellfire Missiles are cracking tanks like nothing, with "just" a 9kg Load, a Maverick H has over 50kg iirc
