Wags, it's magnificent, hands down. With the push forward for new levels of realism in the map systems, and a full study sim akin to the A10C, you guys have set a new benchmark for the flight sim genre with the F-18, congratulations.

Amazing graphics. A few years ago you'd only see this level in extremely expensive computers that no individual could own. Good job.

I have been a F404 powerplant mech for the past several years with the Marines. It's nice to see a proper Legacy Hornet simulation hit the community. Great work to DCS!

I cannot WAIT for the F/A-18C to come out for DCS! I've been waiting so long for this. The graphics are so sweet. And I don't mind the fact that it's a charlie model rather than an E/F considering it's still in service.

I just can't believe the graphics. Absolutely stunning technology

Bought hornet about 8 weeks ago. After thumbling, making two notebooks full of notes, have kinda flow 8hours a day, sometimes more. It was swetty job, but goddam whada feeling, when passing serpents head campaign, included two weeks of air to air refueling brute forcing, (which nearly drived me totally insane, but good that it is out from the way from very beginning, in the 30 kn crosswind, with small tanker, and crappy hotas. Now i got it.) in mission 3 :D But now its done. Thank you for one of the best computer gaming experiences I have had, in my 40 years of gaming. :) Wanted to note this here, because this was the very first tutorial I watched while downloading the mod itself, when bought.

That's the most comprehensive F/A-18 overview I have ever heard. Very interested to see how the 73 and 67 systems run up. The avionics simulations will make or brake this platform.

After 2.5yrs on ARMA3 and 6mths on BF3 (my first PC game)... I have now discovered DCS and my first aircraft is this baby.... omfg(osh). The learning curve is just ridiculous, but sooo cool.

Its really amazing that you guys managed to simulate Lot 20 the last hornet version before super hornets. Looking forward to this module. Used to be in VNAO (Virtual Naval Air Ops) using Flaming Cliffs like 10 years ago and I'm sure everyone from that group wherever they are now will surely appreciate a fully simulated old school hornet :) @Matt Wagner Are there any plans for also a fully simulated aircraft carrier as well, maybe even as a DLC?

Great videos and great plane modeled. The only critique I have with your video is JHMCS, military verbiage. The legacy guys just say J-Macks but the Canadians and Super guys call it J-Hammicks. Can't wait til this thing is available along with the F-18 stick. Always been waiting for F-18 stick, with it's slightly left offset, since Suncom back in the early 2000s.

Can we expect cold Carrier 'ramp' starts, rather than just cat hot starts like dcs currently has?

Can not wait for this one! Will be the most epic DCS aircraft yet (and that's saying something). I just hate it when Wags talks about the "coming months" ..still a while to wait unfortunately.

The graphics in this are out of this world. I'm aboir to purchase a pre-built with 17-8700k, and a GTX 1070 hope it will get me 60 frames. I don't mind cutting some sliders.

There's a small mistake with the model of the F/A-18. It has those add-on fins atop the leading edge extensions made by Patria which are only on Finnish Hornets, not on US-used hornets.

My 3 year old son noted that the even while flying as a blue angel, when you eject the pilot's uniform changes back to the standard OD green flight suit. Perhaps this will be modified in the future.

Really excited to get her but I also like flying russian aircraft we need a more advanced Russian Aircraft Like Su30MKi mig29ovt balance will be off in game once the hornet is out the biggest disappointment was the SU27 SM being canceled so we will have 1980s r73s 27s vs late 90s American hardware hope to see a modern russian aircraft soon. great work on F18

In 2021 Eagle Dynamics is finally promoting an aircraft to full release status that has been in Early Access for years. The developers have promised a simulation of the aircraft and weapons plattform to never before seen detail accessible to civilians. For years they kept pushing new features, improving the flight model and now, years later they have finally succeeded. Eagle Dynamics officially call it the DCS F/A-18C Hornet but the flyers call it: The Wagnermobile (Queue Harold Faltermeyer, F/A-18C ascending the decklift of the DCS Supercarrier. I have version DСS World 2.7 but there is no wave, and there is no white foam on the crest of the wave... the view of water in version 2.7 is very ugly, as if a dark flat mirror... Tell me how to fix it. And the question about the keelboat trail from the ships... - it is very short and weakly expressed, i.e. poorly visible... Can you please tell me how to fix this? I can see how it would be a more complicated product - because the real life F-18 is far more complex than the real life A-10. Ground mapping radar, air to air radar, all the multi role weapon capability (air to air, air to ground, +anti ship), and that makes for quite an avionics package compared to the A-10. That said, DCS is about to solidify their already concrete foundation even further with this module. No one else in the industry comes close to Eagle Dynamics and what they've done so far, and I couldn't imagine any company out there ever catching up to them.

Now the real question is: How good is its radar and will the Flanker version from the 1990s get completely destroyed?
