‪@Meatlessmuffin‬ I hope this helps take care
(when i mentioned the "Jesus nut" thats a thing")
Jesus nut is a slang term for the main rotor retaining nut[1] or mast nut, which holds the main rotor to the mast of some helicopters. The related slang term Jesus pin refers to the lock pin used to secure the retaining nut. More generally, Jesus nut (or Jesus pin) has been used to refer to any component that is a single point of failure which results in catastrophic consequences, and the only thing left to do is, metaphorically speaking, pray to Jesus, hence the name

Hey bud, when you say "throttle", I hope you mean "collective", and I'm sure you do, because I didn't hear the low Rpm warning and the rotor and turbine needles stayed in the green. But, for those watching manipulating the throttle will get them into trouble. Also, if your forward airspeed is less than 20 knots and you have a descent greater than 500 ft/min you will enter vortex ring state, which is what happened to you at 4.10 on the video. Still a good video bud, keep it up.

Thanks and yes. I am coming out of the A-10 so I get confused with collective - throttle and cyclic and pitch. Thanks on the tip for landing I will practice. I also hate speaking on vid. Thanks for watching

Heuy simple, left rudder & stick for take off and hover, right rudder and pull back on stike on landing. Keeping any eye on Airspeed and vertical sped gauges. But do not allow the Heuy to stop or hover until you're close the the ground due to VRS. Not uless yiu skilled in countering VRS. Along as you have some forward or side momentum in the Heuy during landing, then you'll be ok, centrise stick or moving it forward, after pulling back gard to slow down helps, Or circle into your landing spot using collective, small amount of ruddder and stick.

One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give people for landing helicopters is to first properly learn how to land a plane that is on glide slope. You should be landing planes with a nose attitude up but the aircraft descending at the same time. When you get into this flight mode, the controls actually reverse and you use the throttle to control climb and decent and you use the stick to control speed. If you learn how to do this, your F-14 carrier landing your mentioned in another post will quickly come together. Landing on a carrier is flying glide slope until you hit the deck instead of flaring at the end like you do with a runway. That is why they need such beefy landing gear. Anyways, once you are comfortable flying in glide slope just apply the same approach to the helicopter and it will make all the difference. I was taught this in DCS by a real military air controller who would talk us down from 20 thousand feet to land with zero visibility. Crazy hard, but also very fun. It also makes you realize how wrong you might be landing in the first place.

thanks i am always looking for advice. i need to focus more. my biggest issue is i get sidetracked, probably why they gave me a call sign of "Squirrel" lol . between the a-10c, a-10cii, ah-64d uh-1, mi-64p, p-47, f-14, f-15 (love that thing) f-16 and now the f-18 i am surprised my head has not exploded. thanks for watching even though half the time i am hairballing it lol. and i do appreciate any tips you can offer

i see that in my A-10 sometimes, i think it may be a setting i have to look into. it seems to happen in some aircraft more then others. maybe if i turn the pilot back on it will help. i will have to test it out
