You're saying that the plane is hard to master because you have to hold down the weapon release button to release a rocket?

@@DmdMixZ the keybind is pretty annoying , not even on the same side of the keyboard, though this is remedied by using a stick or a simple rebind.

Guys tf is wrong witch you lot of people want to try Mig 29 and flankers but EVRYONE want to fly f18 and F16 legendary aicrafts but thease are for People thet want to spent lot of Money and patient enough to read 700 pages insteuction just to foreget most of it learning thease planes takes weeks/months and F15 doesnt have training so u dont have strong fundaments

@@serkwazariusz3487 TF is wrong with you that you completely missed the point I made? I didn't complain that the Fulcrum and Flankers exist or that people would want to play them. I didn't complain that the Redfor planes outnumber the Bluefor planes in FC3 (they do, though). The Su-25A and A-10A are both CAS mud movers. They do the same job. They're balanced. The MiG-29, Su-27, and Su-33 are all multirole fighters. They can do air superiority and ground attack roles. The F-15C is a pure air superiority fighter. The examples I gave of low fidelity F-16 and F-18 were just that, examples. Any blue force multirole fighter would have been fine. F-4 Phantom, F-15E, Rafale, Typhoon, doesn't matter. The point is that with the exception of the Frogfoot, all of the Russian planes in FC3 are multi-role and none of the non-Russian planes are multi-role.

Totally agree. What is the point in buying the best simulator out there for just flying simplified models? And as you say why spend time learning key combinations instead of using switches and buttons?

Naruko球球 yeah flipping switches sucks. Luckily my hotas has a ton of switches and buttons. Makes life easy for sure.

PaletoB these aircraft came from a previous game; LOMAC or Lock On Modern Air Combat, and its expansion Flaming Cliffs 3. They didn’t create them for DCS. They are committed now to a better more modern experience for DCS, and I doubt you’ll see them spend any time or money on more lofi aircraft.

Yup, it was the last one in the series to get a professional flight model. Otherwise it would have brought down the average of the whole set. :) I love its flight model now. It is a BEAST, one of the harder fixed-wing aircraft to fly, but tons of power and tons of fun.

@@rampantcoyote3136 Before professional FM release, the Fulcrum was probably the easiest plane to land. Now it's one of the hardest.

@@jakubdabrowski3846 The day the new FM hit, I was at work laughing at people complaining about things like flipping the plane on landing. Then I went home, tried it out, and promptly crashed the plane on landing. Three times! I still treat landings in the MiG-29 a lot more gingerly than most of the aircraft, and I am twice as likely to wave off and go around for another pass (which can get scary on its own, because I'm almost always really low on fuel when I'm coming in... that plane is a gas-guzzler!)

The tabs at the bottom allow you to select the plane, they are all in that sheet.

In general I don’t pre-order anything. It’s a huge gamble in my opinion. Wait a week or two, then when the hype has died down make a decision

Erdem Demirel I realized long ago that if a game has a non steam and a steam variant, it’s much better to have just got the non steam version.

But he already has the "15-minutes to map your Hotas" videos... so I agree, the FC3 key and button bindings are a pain, but once done, you are golden.

The problem is that you have to map EVERYTHING in a FC3. I a full fidelity model you don't have to, you just take your mouse and click it. And that is what makes FC3 a lot harder for me. Yes, they are simpler in a way, but a lot harder cause you have to remember every freaking key. I don't have to do that in my F18, even if it is more complex, I just look at it and use the mouse, that is it. So, like many others at the hoggit reddit, are adamant that FC3 planes are NOT for beginners, and they not what DCS is about. FC3 is the past, they shouldn't even be in DCS.

Alternatively for newcomers, they can google for a HOTAS profile for one of the FC3 planes, import it and learn the bindings that way. This works well since all the profile makers include images of the HOTAS showing what each button in the profile does. I learned the Frogfoot this way and it worked great for me. Pretty soon I developed muscle memory and I barely had issues during combat, sometimes I had to go back to look up stuff concerning navigation and other less used things but those systems are also very simplified in the FC3 so there's not that much to know. I'm currently learning the Mirage and it's been going slower because there's a lot more to learn. And while yes, these cockpits are designed with a certain logic in mind you have to learn that logic and learn where everything is and most of all learn the correct procedures. As comparison let's take the following situation: you're RTB and notice you'll need an ILS landing, you can't rely on visual. Well in the Mirage this involves an entire procedure which takes time and you need to learn. While yes, the necessary buttons are located in sensible locations, it's still a bunch to set up. In FC3 it's much less involved, but, it's true, you need to know the bindings. Let's say in both cases you forgot how it went, well good luck alt tabbing in between the Mirage manual and DCS to follow the procedure, it's a lot quicker to look up FC3 bindings. Either way I think, with the correct approach and attitude (full fidelity: focus on cockpit, learning the logic of the systems & FC3: focus on your imported/adjusted HOTAS profile and work on muscle memory) both are viable to newcomers. In the end I guess it's personal preference above all.

Honestly i'd find keybindings a lot easier than squinting to see what switch I need to throw in the cockpit while flying (and being in the middle of a dogfight). Especially since my previous experience is in console flight games.

@@valrond You mean you don't have to bind your HOTAS? Because that's /all/ you have to do for FC3. And no, they're not in the past. They'll stay with DCS forever - if you haven't noticed, MAC is an 'FC3'ing' of today's HQ modules.

I don't think there are any Hi Fidelity su 27 or su 33, they are being sold separately on steam but they are exactly the same as the ones in FC3 exactly no difference. I think they also state that in their store
