A somewhat quick video of my flight sim setup per the request of a few people asking for it. Hope this helps those who are looking for a similar set up.

I have had the Virpal Collective for about two months and love using it. It's great in the ah64 and oh58.

I agree! I can never go back to the throttle for Helos.

That was very helpful, thanks for sharing. I have the same chair with the full F18 setup from winwing and it is awesome. So far I am very satisfied with the winwing products. I will probably use your collective setup if I ever get one.

Much appreciated. It changes your world in VR when flying helos. I was so use to flying with the throttle, it took a few days to re-wire my brain to acknowledge down was down and pulling up goes up. Love it now!

I have the same chair, and if i could make one suggestion, it would be to turn your stick about 20 degrees to the left. It's a LOT more ergonomic as it keeps your wrist straight and is how flight sticks are mounted in real jets.

Really appreciate the feedback! That is why I enjoy this community and made this video. Thank you for letting me know, I will give it a shot.

Had thrustmaster warthog for 11 years then went to Virpil, can't wait for the collective and grip! Thrustmasters are stepping their game up!!
@Devil-mn3dc15 күн бұрын
I have been satisfied with Virpil's for sure! It is only a matter of time though before Winwing or Thrusmaster join the party with a collective. Someone was making a TEDAC and it was not Komodo Simulations expensive one. I want to say Wing WIng or someone more reasonably priced has one in development that will be VR or desktop capable with the display if not using VR.

Digging your setup, almost bought the same setup. I see you fly mostly helicopters as you mentioned, I fly with a casual group of heli guys online, weekly missions, no requirements, just a chill discord of a heli community of dudes who fly dcs. Rotorheads, enigmas cold war, contention or whatever. Him me up if you ever wanna wingman some helis.

Really appreciate it brother! I might do that. I am also a huge Navy fighter jock. Spent significant time in the Hornet on DCS and absolutely love it. I grew up around Tomcats, Phantoms, and Intruders. Heatblur has me sold hook line and sinker. Had the Kiowa not just released with the F-4, I would probably be up 15K instead of down in the trees. When the Intruder and Sandy come out, I may have to incorporate 2 days a week for flying. For now though, yes, we are at tree top level crushing it. Really hope to see ED clean up the Huey to modern day DCS helo standards. She is also another old fling of mine from child hood.

Dude, i knew you were legit when i saw that fan there! Makes VR soooo much better
@Devil-mn3dc15 күн бұрын
LMFAO! Its a must or I am fogging up the VR and sweating all over the pad. We average typically a minimum of 1 to 1.5 hours when we fly each week, but it usually winds up 2 to 3 hours. All 3 wives have our flight schedule. Every once in a while, the air boss grounds us.

if you fly mostly helicopters maybe check out VKB pedals, not too expensive all metal and basically helicopter pedals with no toe breaks.

Thanks for the informative video. As a helo pilot/airline pilot IRL I’m looking to get the same basic setup. (Can’t get the Boeing chair as an Airbus Capt though 😂)
@Devil-mn3dc13 күн бұрын
At this rate, you may be better off with an Airbus chair. I am waiting on something to fall off of this one in a DCS Flight after seeing another tire falling off a 757 a few days ago. We need to get Next Level to have Lockheed Martin also sponsor a chair.

Wow, nice setup! Also using Thrustmaster but mounted on a gaming chair so very mobile - too mobile really and would like something more stable. But I live in Japan so everything pretty pricey. And love your collective setup! I fly the UH-1H, SA 342 and Black Shark. But using a Thrustmaster kind of sucks. 😔

Appreciate the feedback! I have heard a lot of good things about Wing Wing. You may give them a shot. I plan to after my Thrusmater goes out.

What size were the locking nuts you got for the extrusion
@EpicNinjaRides15 күн бұрын
You need 4080 T slot nuts and you can use the m8 bolts that come with the NLR chair

@@michaelfogleman3035 yea I just finished putting my chair together and can already tell I’m going to have to use extrusions to modify it to get everything where I want it.

Sorry I was late to the party on the below. I forgot to add the links in the description. Let me dig them up and I will add them. Hope the person below helped out. Extrusion is the way to go for sure.

You do know they make black extrusion?
@Devil-mn3dc13 күн бұрын
What would be the fun in that? LOL. No I did not. Would have gone that route it I saw it as an option though for sure.
@vincentsantucci247816 күн бұрын
Thrustmaster was ok back when it had no competition. Now they are behind the market and overpriced. That applies across both racing and flight sim products. Winwing, Virpil and VKB are the best alternatives to look at. Moza is coming into the scene now.
@Devil-mn3dc16 күн бұрын
Yeah, unfortunately I was not as satisfied when I purchased my second flight stick. To be honest, I thought I had been ripped off at first. I could tell an immediate difference in quality of parts used vs my original one. Still a good product, but one reason I am leaning towards Winwing for my next round of controls.
@Sergeant89815 күн бұрын
@@Devil-mn3dc I have Winwing everything. Highly recommended. I think you will realize thrustmaster is a bit junky in comparison. AMA if you have questions. Also, get some adhesive retractable suspenders for hanging your Pimax cable from the ceiling. Much more free moving and almost feels wireless.

Our current administration is crazy. Treating Razbam and HEatblur like that! Brother, tell me about it!
