Who can fly higher and faster a Russian / soviet mig-29 fulcrum vs the American f-16 viper? Fun race for who can go faster and higher on GS - instead of splashing bandits. Got nomad 6-1 and sightline with me doing all kinds of awesome and also wait for the landings for classic plasma mig-29 crash.

Hey guys let me know if this was interesting at all? And let me know if you could read the tacview speed numbers. Read those at 1440p

Very much enjoyed this video. I like comparisons. Would like to see more; 14 vs 15 vs 27. Have you tried the F-104 mod? Would like to see videos with the 104. GVad has done a few and they are excellent. Hold .9 up to 36,000ft. Once at Mach 2, climb at this speed up to 70,000+ft. I am unsure how familiar you are with the F-104. One needs to search deeply to find the important articles such as this one titled: "Ruminations on the F-104 by Walt BJ, Zipper pilot, ret (Not by choice)". Search for it. Walt BJ has a few articles like this giving a whole new appreciation for the 104. He was intercepting U2s from above. Did you know the F-104 beat the F-15 in DACT? Did so and the Eagle got beat, badly. Search for this article: "Starfighter 4 Eagle 0: that time two F-104s scored four simulated kills against an F-15B in a single training mission". The F-104C when flown in Vietnam, saw the MIGs grounded. They didn't want to go up against the 104 when the 104 escorted the 105s.

Good call, I will do a few more races and have them a bit more controlled. I try to not run non standard mods because we are when in competitions or servers we may not be able to connect etc.. But will do some of of the mods. The Gen3 aircraft (and Gen2) jets have a warm place in my heart.

That's not fair. F-16 is taking 3 pylons while Mig-29 takes no pylons.

MiG29A is faster than the S?

Yes, MiG-29S holds an ECM in the hump on its back (behind the cockpit). This along with other slight modifications make the S heavier and thus slower than the MiG-29A.

@@plazma1945 In game stats says identical weight and performance last I looked. Didn't think the difference was modeled in game.

@@DiscJediPanoramix really hmm we need to do more testing.. so *heard* M29A is faster. we tried it here.. seems like Sightline did have a good run eventually I caught up to Nomad but. Sightline was definitely hauling.. as per my cover image :P Totally Unscientific

From my tests the Mig29C is faster on the deck then the Mig29A. But the Mig29A does accelerate a bit quicker then the C. but the Mig29C tops out higher then the A on the deck. And in the DCS Arena, The Mig-29 Is a deck monkey anyway hehe.
