This Toyota engine is extremely capable, I remember few months ago I was at Jibhi and we were going towards Jalori Pass that is not very high but incline was quite steep. We were in Skoda Slavia 1.0 TSI and it was barely moving in 1st gear. And there was one fortuner going with absolute zero effort (even the engine noise wasn't changed at all).

So, does it mean that we should always prioritise climbing in 4Low gear instead of pushing it in 4High gear? I'm confused because in Low gear, the RPM will be constantly high for a long time, so chances of overheating will increase, right? Amazing drone shots though ❤

Boss, if your car engine doesn't have enough power to get keep up the momentum then you need 4 l or else 4 high should do it for that kind of climb

4L & 4H are used in different scenarios. If your vehicle is stationary on a climb or stuck & it's struggling to move forward in 4H then you should use 4L for additional torque. If you've momentum then climb in 4H. In 4H mode no extra torque will be generated, it just sends power to 4 wheels.

Guys, thank you for the response. But I guess you misunderstood my question completely. I completely understand the concept of Torque in 4H or 4L and its choice accordingly. My concern was regarding using the 4L for a long time, as the RPM is increased when using that gear. I wonder if it can also result in too much heat or some other consequences.

@@AnkurThakurDelhiyes the engine will more heat up in 4low but these cars are made to drive in those gears dusring the climbs they are very well engineered to handle these type of situations

@@AnkurThakurDelhi yes you're right. It should not be used for long time. As soon as you get out of a obstacle then shift to 4H or 2H according to the condition. If you're in such a terrain that you're bound to use 4L for long time then allow some time interval for cooling. 4L & diff locks should not be used for a long time.

I was there Dinesh bhai this October first week on oct 4th we went to umlingla via Nurobulla top the same way and while coming it was dark the same way and we got lost coz of too many tracks on those wide plain grounds.. later found military they also got lost due to roads at night and we used there GPS and came back 😂 and while going to demchok break fail hogaya due to continuous breaking break pad worn out but we managed
