I got a 5$ dac with the same ALC5686 dac used in the TC35B, the spec difference I've found when comparing the 2 is that the 5$ one has SNR/DNR of 125db/-113db, 65mW @ 32ohms and a THD-H of 0.003%. The 5$ dac name is Jcally JA04, the way you described how clear the sound is and has wide sound stage with not enough depth is also how this 5$ sounds in my experience

@@AudiophileHeaven the dac was made by Realtek, sadly there's no spreadsheet available for the Realtek ALC5686.

@@AudiophileHeaven I think that Shuoer Tape doesn't need a lot of power to run, the android phone is quite enough. Shuoer Tape has very strong bass and high frequency detail (they also sound great when using an Android phone). The problem is in the midrange, the vocals are especially masculine far behind in the sound image (they seem to be presented by only a dinanic driver that blurred them with the pouring of bass into that part of the frequency spectrum), while the female vocals are relatively ok (they seem to present only electrostatic part driver). I was hoping that someone who owns Shuoer Tape and TC35B could tell me if TC35B brings improvement in terms of reducing the V sound image and that the vocals present better using TC35B. I think people are wrong to think that they need a strong source to run Shuoer Tape, so they usually burn very easily. 🔥🎧🔥 🔥🔥🔥they are deceived by the fact that they think that it is a classic electrostatic driver, and it is not, and that they think that they need a lot of power to start it🔥🔥🔥🔥 Can you check and share *your* experience *Android* *phone* *+* *TC35B* *+* *Shuoer* *Tape* ?

@@branislavcrljenica2584 ah, I understand now! I used to think they need a lot of power, precisely because the midrange was so recessed and I ended up pushing the volume quite high to hear it better. There's no specific DAC that can solve those issues, what I would recommend though is either Hidizs AP80Pro or Hiby R3Pro. This is because both have Hiby Music, and their special EQ, which can change the character of the sound. A smooth / warm DAC does not advantage the Tape, because they already have that thicker lower bass, but neither does a very neutral one, since the electrostatic driver can be shouty. TC35B is as good as most DACs for them, I am usually pairing the Tape with a Lotoo Paw S1 precisely because I'm engaging the built in EQ on that one to fix the mid a bit... 🙂

General question regarding hifi setups, i actually have this and its already a dac. Is it possible or would it help if I get a topping nx4, connect it using a 3.5mm to micro usb and connect it to dac option of topping nx4? Thanks

Hiii, I would suggest using either this one, or the Topping as a DAC, it wouldn't help if you dobule DAC-ed the signal :)

TC44C is the best overall if you can find and afford it. TC35i is beneath it, Ka1 is after both in overall resolution / clarity.

Hard question. Go with which one looks better and is more ergonomic. You'll feel that difference more than the difference in sound
