"..if an effect starts to be apply.. it will continue to be applied.. even if the effect is removed during this process." Yeah but what about after the process is finished? The effect is being removed not just during, but after, by Opalescence's constant effect. And if Humility's ability still exists making itself a 1/1 creature, does it mean that it effects all other creatures as it normally would? Just to clarify. "no dependency because both of these effects apply to the same objects and do the same thing no matter what order they are applied in" I disagree. They both want to change power/toughness, but Humility wants to remove it's own ability which is something that Opalescence doesn't do. Removal of it's own ability will effect power/toughness, but maybe it isn't on the same layer 7b, which makes the exception? Nice video but way too short because I have so many questions still. Also it feels kind of a niche lesson that won't apply to anything else besides these two cards?

Any time multiple things enter the battlefield at the same time, an order must be determined for timestamps. It’s not brought up because it generally doesn’t matter, but it is very important to avoid situations like this. So the answer is, whoever controls the effect that put them on the battlefield (usually the controller of Opalescence and Humility) decides. Or at least, I think that’s what should happen. I’m not really sure. It’s such a rare circumstance that you would have these exact types of effects enter the battlefield at the exact same time that the answer probably doesn’t matter.
