A 20% speed increase is nothing to sneeze at. It doesn't sound like a lot, but the stamina required to get the footwork right, bar or no bar, increases exponentially with a BPM increase, not linearly.

Impossible. A 16th notes non-stop run at 180bpm from the very beginning for 90 seconds would make 1080 steps, and it would still rank as a 19 if they put crossovers and BPM changes during the endless run.

@@AznKei1 it’s not impossible. You can have a burst chart with many 16th triplets and tiny but fast (24th note) streams and stuff.

This is by far the easiest 19. It is just straightforward 180 BPM 16th notes with some 24th note bursts which is a lot easier than the others (ordered by difficulty): Paranoia Revolution: Same BPM but with lots of crossovers with scooby steps and foot switch jacks Egoism 440: 220 BPM 16th note streams Valkyrie Dimension: 190 BPM 16th note streams with scooby crossovers that go into jumps, plus a 240 BPM 16th note stream speed up at the beginning that must be memorized Over the Period: 210 BPM cross overs and scooby steps with 16th note triples, and 210 BPM 16th note streams Lachryma: 236 BPM 16th note streams It's surprising that Egoism 440 with the super high BPM is relatively easy compared to the others. Straightforward fast 16th note streams at 220 BPM apparently are on average easier than 190-210 BPM streams with a bunch of crossovers. I guess I agree with the sentiment that this is surprising when you consider that this is 1,000 arrows, but the other 19s barely break the 800 mark. Straightfoward long runs are just much easier to score on than faster but shorter runs with lots of technically demanding crossovers. But that makes sense when you think about how much energy is required to do a straightforward stream with keeping your feet nicely in the middle of the pad and not moving much vs having to twist your whole body and go off bar for cross overs.

I wonder how hard it would be if it started at 0:04 with the pattern style from 0:55, the part 1:06 adding 2 12th note bursts per 4 measures, the part 1:14 is a unbreakable long stream with crossovers, 1:22 with the pattern style from 0:55 but 24th notes because of the slowdown effect and 1:35 with more 12th bursts and crossovers. I think it should reach around 1200 notes total.

to be fair, the original max 300 charts weren't super heavy into the crossovers anyway. at most they would do vertical candles in streams, I'd say this fits the style but I think there are WAY too many 12th notes lmao

@@TC19 exactly my thoughts when i started comparing charts and difficulty (FC/PFC wise and passability) even though Egoism 440 is considered the easiest to FC, community wise, it's definitely mid-tiered to pass from the bpm alone. Valkyrie dimension while much harder to FC is slightly lax compared to what came after. (aside from the 744 bpm speed up which usually kills the player) a big portion of it's chart has a lot of breathing room to prepare for the 2nd half which can't be overlooked compared to the other 19's. Max 360 also does this to even out at 1000 combo which kind of bugs me. they sacrificed difficulty for the 1000 combo gimmick. if you look at over the period, its basically a harder version of Valkyrie dimension except there is no moment to breath which definitely puts it near the top. And then there's Endymion, which is a whole other beast, both passibility wise and FC wise. But this is just my personal thoughts on how they're rated.

it honestly does depend on each person how they would put their 19s instead of (which you do have valid points) how good players are attacking the chart in terms of FC or passing. (btw the speedrun in the beg of VD is 480 bpm...744 is the freeze arrow) Valkyrie dimension has the most breaks in the DDR 19 compared to others but the crossovers galore in that chart are brutal to a point a lot of people bracket that chart (id honestly find otp easier to attack than VD lool) but yeah again it depends on the person =3

It's not a Konami-only problem. The boss charts at Pump It Up are also annoying to most people, and the thing with arcade dancing games is that the pro players wanted to push to their limits, hence those charts existence.
