I think we are at the beginning of a general trend where precision manufacturing makes more complicated watches more and more affordable as technology improvements make production much more competitive. It will become a lot harder for luxury brands to retain their premium in the years to come unless they innovate and probably keep their most valuable manufacturing in-house.

It's gorgeous, but I'm a little skeptical of the price. I know it's a flying tourbillon, but it's a $500 movement (I think about at most) and the case/dial needs to make up the next 1700 on the price and that's a steep ask for a microbrand. I know you can't get a tourbillon in the legacy brands, but you can get some big hitters on the used or grey market for the price. Tudor, longines, even omega and I'm going to pick them imo.

Peacock has some pretty unique movements! I’d like to give one a try sometime and see how it holds up

Regardless of whether this does indeed represent good value, I understand the brand asks a hefty premium for the aventurine dial. This is outright silly, as for example Pedral recently revealed. Aventurine dials are the flavour of the moment, but their essentially relatively cheap to produce glass dials. Pedral recognises this and made the aventurine version available for less than his pressed guilloché dials, emphasising that point. Having expressed that grievance, I must admit that this aventurine version, on this watch design in you footage despite of the washing out of the hands, actually looks the best version of this watch so far. In that regard perhaps you're paying the hefty premium to get the most enjoyable version of the model rather than the material. Yet, that in itself would not be a value proposition. I quite enjoy the looks, but this thickness and size would not be for me.

I think, they were never made to service them. But anyway…. Go and get another one…. But in fact: nice watch👍

With the exception of the Purple Rain, De Bethune is a brand IMO no one should try to mimic. They are awful looking. Incredible watches horologically speaking, sure, but man I don't know what they are going for in terms of design. Lunar lander? This watch however is much better looking than all but one DB I can think of, though that's not a particularly high bar to clear. But this is all my opinion, people should wear what they like not listen to idiots like me in the comments.
