Certainly helpful advice, cutting the tails of your sounds is often equally as important as managing the transient stacking. Both techniques shown in this video of manually fading the start and ends of sounds is crucial to getting a loud and clear mix.

Dude hell yes, theres tons of great stuff in this vid Just to add my own lil tip that i like to do is using pre-transients to de-harsh things. For example i will take a sound with a softer attack (maybe like a shaker) and layer that up with a kick that has a sharp transient, but i will move that soft attack sound by like -10ms using abletons track delay panel. This way it kinda masks the sharp transient so it isnt so clicky but still has that sharpness i like! I found this tip in an old tutorial by Feed Me and i use it in every track of mine now.

I constantly fight with the harsh clap and hi-hat. At low volumes it sounds fine, but as the volume increases it destroys my ears.
