Was honored to sing at St. Luke in NLR as they honored three of their oldest deacons.

This is real worship. Some churches are doing a lot of entertainment.. It's time to praise. These songs had a lot a meaning and something you could focus on when you left church. The preachers preached. A lot of them didn't have to put their message on a paper. They just let God use them. We need to go back to the "Old LandMark" where we can stay in the service of the Lord. Amen, say Amen again. We need God in our lives more than ever right now.

If I tell you I was singing every song and praising right along with this. I really miss this I grew up in the Baptist church and was an every Sunday all day every event every function church goer. I'm 47yrs old and haven't been in church for 10yrs they have lost me and for the most part I feel like the churches don't care. Us former church goers express all the time that the church has changed and why we don't attend anymore and they are completely running the older generation out of church. I still praise God daily and have faith.

This should be on national TV so the whole country can experience this joyful worship! We have lost our joy for worship and need it back! This is a stirring of the Spirit and WE NEED MORE OF IT! PREACH BROTHER PREACH!

I am on the battle field for my Lord; Do Lord,Do Lord,Lord remember me; You ought to live so God can use you, anywhere Lord anytime; Oh Lord hold my hand, while I run this race, cause I don’t want to run this race in vain; My God getting us ready for that great day, tell me who shall be able to stand; When all Gods children get together, what a time what a time; Come and go to that land where I’m bound; Glory,Glory hallelujah since I laid my burdens down; You ought to hold to hand, Gods unchanging hands, build your hopes on things eternal;

These hymns always lift me up during challenges. Wow, I can see myself seated on the last bench of the church near the ushers with the other kids. I even hear those heels tapping the wooden floors. Thanks for the happy 😊 tears I've just shed. 😢

As I heard those old devotion songs, I had to start crying which I hardly do. My mind just went back to when I was a child growing up in our Baptist church down in the country. We only had a piano, and hard floors. I am not that old, but back then they didn’t have drums in Baptist churches like they do now. All we had was hard floors, so you could keep the beat with your hands and your feet tapping. It sounded so good because people were on one accord during the singing. I still tap my foot during church because that is how I was raised. I could see my grandparents, my momma, family members, and other church members singing during Devotion time. Most are gone now to be with the Lord, but the memories are still there. Times have really changed...I miss Devotion so much on Sunday mornings during church!

I agree. Children sat in the back of the church. The clapping of hands were the musical instruments. It really was fun going to church. Now, things are very different, except the values my momma, grandma and the Village instilled in me up to this present day. I can still see the dust from the floor boards while the Spirit was High. Back then the Saints wore flat shoes, called shoutin shoes.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Very few churches even do Deacon lead devotion of hymns and choruses anymore, nowadays. it's all praise and worship of modern contemporary gospel and Christian music with choirs and praise teams, most churches don't even have Deacons they have associate & assistant ministers associate & assistant pastors, some Churches do not even have Bishops they have moderators doing the work of a bishop! However this is becoming a generation of all churches throughout all denomination ethnic nationality backgrounds we're very few people even know what devotion and Deacon is! And then on what Few churches actually have Deacons, the Deacon and Deaconess deacons wife, are just another member of a congregation and the associate and assistant ministers and pastors the choir and the praise team is all coming on one Accord to do the work of the deacon and the Deacon's wife!

WHEN THESE SONGS WERE POPULAR THERE WAS NOT ALL OF THE CHAOS LIKE WE ARE HAVING NOW.. ...THESE SONGS WERE LIKE SERMONS. THEY NOT ONLY LET YOU KNOW GOD'S PART IN THE SCHEME OF THINGS BUT YOURS SLSO..THATS WHY I FEEL LIKE THE MUSIC SHOULD NOT BE ALL ONE SIDED.. .MIX IT UP WITH GOOD OLD TIME GOSPEL AND PRAISE SONGS OF TODAY. PRAISE SONGS ARE BEAUTIFUL ANFCMIRE SCRIPTURAL BUT THRY TALK ABOUT THE ACTS OF TRINITY ONLY. OUR PART IS LEFT OUT. I'M JUST SAYING.
