You guys should totally look at the lore for the Huntress. I always found her story very interesting, disturbing, and sad. It also reminds of something I read once too. I also remember finding the Artists' lore interesting and sad too. It explains why her limbs are replaced with ink, the crows, and the sounds she makes.

Nacho was right though. Doctor was the first Original Killer who was outright evil and enjoyed killing. Trapper, Wraith, and Hag were following the orders of the Entity Hillbilly and Huntress think they are protecting their territories. Nurse is just plain insane. After Doctor we do get more evil Original Killers, like Clown, Trickster, Legion, Oni, Singularity, Skull Merchant and Knight

Oni isn't as evil as the others, he probably gets tricked by the entity to chase the survivors by believing they are associated with the ones that humiliated his family names honor

Then we have Spirit that the entity found by accident. It was after her father and her rage was so great when she died it decided it wanted her instead and so forged a pact with her.... she gets to kill her father. It's likely she sees all the survivors as her father.

Iirc The idea from the Doctor actually came from the Chinese playerbase, when asked by BHVR what they would like added as a killer, instead of any mythological or fictional horrors the majority of them suggested this infamous doctor.

Everyone loves the licensed killers in DBD, but for me the original killers are a true testament to what the team at BHVR can do when they are allowed to let their imaginations run wild (much like Dr. Carter here, actually). Trapper, Hillbilly, Nurse, Spirit, Oni, Legion, Hag... their stories are fascinating, tragic, and in some cases I actually found myself rooting for them at one point, as they turned their abilities on those who had wronged them. For the nth time I find myself thinking "this original character needs some sort of movie." I think most players familiar with the lore agree that Dr. Carter is one of the most evil killers with one of the sickest stories. Of the human killers (as opposed to demons or monsters, I mean), I think the only other who comes close to being this evil is Ji-Woon Hak, aka "The Trickster" who is essentially the photographer Stefano from "The Evil Within 2" recreated as a K-pop singer.

Oh, this is not the lore video I was expecting… I was hoping that you would react to Pixel Bush’s lore videos about each killer. It’s just that this video is not the best. For instance, his lack of knowledge about the reasoning behind the medical equipment The Doctor is wearing. He doesn’t go into the inspiration behind The Doctor’s design and story, or the parallels with CIA projects in real life. He doesn’t mention The Doctor’s mentor, Otto Stamper, who is quite important. He kind of skims over the fact that Doctor’s motivation is having power over everything/everyone. He also gets a few parts of the story wrong. The initial experiment with the students was held in a shed. The Doctor first arrived at Lery’s Memorial Institute once he gets hired by the CIA. At least you got most of the story, but still, I was hoping you would react to Pixel Bush’s lore video.

In my opinion the ones where they do not want to be in the real are the most fucked up. Like trapper defies the entity all the time and everytime it puts a hook in the shoulder he uses to carry survivors.

The Doctor's lore still holds up to this day, where most other characters have pratically a horror-book story for them. My favorite part is how Dr. Blanchard was inserted into the lore of another killer...

Brfore he was made American he was supposed to be Asian and bssed on a very real Doctor. Yang Yongxin, a controversial Chinese psychiatrist who used electroconvulsive therapy without anesthetics or relaxants on internet addicts to "cure" them of their addiction.

His lore is great because his lore shows he's actually a very strong very athletic genius, when he just looks like a goofy fat clown and that's his intention.

Through The Doctor's skins, you can tell that he wasn't satisfied with experimenting on others. He needed to experience the pain he was inflicting on others so he could more efficiently bring it upon his victims, and so began experimenting on himself. That's why he has electrodes all over his skull, why he has electric cables surgically implanted into his body, and some of his other skins even depict him with open surgical incisions on his torso and head. Herman Carter is completely unhinged, and only became worse after being granted the freedom he wanted by the Entity.

The ability he can do is shock you which has tiers. Tier 1: makes your character scream tier 2: seeing him everywhere startling you tier 3:make you think he’s following you

It's interesting to note that there is a separation between Evil and Non-Evil killers in DBD. The Non-Evil killers were the one who were forced to kill by necessity or pain. Such killers include the Artist, the Twins, and the Plague. Doctor? Doctor is just nuts. Solidly in the Evil category.

The best part is the doctor is based in reality. A chinese doctor that uses electronic shock therapy to cure online addiction in the youth. The youngest victim was an 8 year old boy with autism(I remembered correctly). He was chosen by the Chinese DBD community over actual monsters from chinese mythology. Also thats why his chapter's survivor is a chinese E sports player Feng Min. Most original DBD killers where based on real people and other times some part of horror. Like Clown, Ghost Face(kinda), Oni being based in reality with Spirit, Hillbilly, and the Trapper based on some type of horror elements.

The Doctor is in the “Pure Evil” category of Killers because some of the Killers are tragic and sometimes even sympathetic, but Herman Carter is definitely not one of those characters

Bricky is fun, but his videos are more comedic, and tend to leave out a lot of stuff. Not to mention that most of them are outdated by this point, since he never covered the Tomes or future killers. Plus, he focuses on gameplay a lot, rather than lore. Pixel Bush has a far more in-depth read into each killer’s lore.

I remember I use to annoy everyone with doctor. Now I use Ghostface or Nemesis. Also ,as a side note, I hear that the next 2 chapters will be 2 out of the following: Friday the 13th, Five Nights At Freddy's, The Candyman, Alien, and Predator. If this is true, we have alot to look forward to
