This actually from Ringu the Japanese version. The American one is similar but this is entirely from the original Japanese one. The survivor is actually the small child from the first Ringu movie all grown up. Also i think the reason this chapter doesn't have as much gravitas is because DBD announced this was happening a few months prior. Usually a new chapter gets teased and hyped a few weeks before hand leading to hype

Sadako is probably one of the scariest killers to imagine going up against. You couldn't fight her because of her ghostly form and she could easily just stop your heart with no effort at all

Shes fun to go up against, you need to be aware of your surroundings, she can pop out of nowhere so she keeps you on edge. She's so short that its hard to see her over walls and loops always jump scaring me.

I love how the devs incorporated her powers seeing as how she’s a ghost who killed on the side lines. They incorporated her telekinetic powers into the game to explain how she would destroy objects and lift survivors. They also managed to come up with a weapon idea that wouldn’t have interfered with her character. That being her curse actually being weaponized itself in her “Ring of Fury” weapon. Her power is also very interesting to play against, when in a match with Onryō the map is populated with TV sets, Sadako is able to phase in and out of existence, when phasing she has no indication of approaching and her appearance fades in and out of view, and she can only attack when unphased. She can also teleport to a TV and come out unphased to take survivors by surprise. If a survivor is near a TV she emerges from they get a token added to a meter up to a maximum of 7, symbolizing the 7 days it takes her curse to kill you. When you reach a full meter your location is shown to Sadako and she is able to kill you without needing to hook with her special Mori. Survivors can remove some of the meter by taking a tape from a TV which will turn it off, preventing Sadako from teleporting to it. A TV will be revealed to the survivor that they need to insert their tape into. Doing so will remove 3 tokens from the curse meter and turn off that TV as well. While carrying a tape the survivor will also passively gain progress towards their curse meter until they return their tape.

1. Sadako (read : SAA-DahKow). Sadako / Yamamura Sadako 山村 貞子, is the original character name from (not Samara). Sadako name means chaste child. Sadako was based on the original Japanese Horror Movie Ring リング (1998) (Read : Read : Ringu). The movie was based on the 1991 novel book by Suzuki Kōji 鈴木 光司. 2. The famous actor Hiroyuki Sanada (真田 広之 Sanada Hiroyuki) was an actor on Ring リング (1998), play as Takayama Ryūji , Reiko's former husband and father of Yoichi. 3. Yoichi had Supernatural ability like his father (Takayama Ryuji). Yoichi also reappearing in the sequel movie titled Ring 2 リング2 (1999). 5. Onryō 怨霊 means : vengeful spirit/ghost, Onryō is one type of yūrei 幽霊 (means : Ghost) which believed capable to injure or killing living peoples. It was believed in Japan, that if someone died with so much hatred or resentment brews, resulting the ghost (person's spirit) becoming an Onryō. This one is the original ring from Japan. There is an American version with a different character named samara. Samara and Sadako are similar characters but different in some ways.

Sah-DAH-Koh. Their powers are pretty accurate. The narrator Tom Kane, who played Professor Utonium in Powerpuff Girls, Yoda and Admiral Wulf Vonn Yularen and Admiral Ackbar in Clone Wars, had a stroke and can no longer speak well.

I love the reactions to DBD (Dead By Daylight), I have played this game on and off, so seeing Onryo being added was so cool.

The reason why more recent trailers haven't had a voice over is because they guy who did the voices had passed during covid although I can't remember if it due to covid or some other illness

So the lesson here is to toss a pallet behind you, and no evil can ever get you.

She's such a scary entity to face especially if the killer is being played by a good player and when she comes out of the tv while you are running away from her is something else.

These DBD trailers are so good in that they show what's so horrifying about each of the killers. Each killer is unique and has something that drives them to kill, and the trailers perfectly encapsulate the essence of the characters.

Let me briefly talk about her ability: Sadako can incarnate. In this state, she has no terror radius and will sometimes flicker, but she cannot attack. After disembodied, Sadako flickers frequently for a short time and returns to normal gameplay. There are TVs. Up to 10 pieces (I do not remember the exact number). While disembodied, Sadako can teleport to one of the TVs, turning it off for 100 seconds. All survivors within 16 meters of the teleport gain one doom bar. By filling all 7 scales (referring to 7 days to death when watching the tape), Sadako can kill (by the way, there is a separate mori that you did not watch).You can reset the scale if you take a cassette from a switched on TV and refer it to another switched on one. But if the survivor has a cassette, one stage is added and even more will be filled further. Resets 3 stages when a cassette is inserted.

Sadako fused together with Kayako from "The Grudge" now they are called Sadakaya. An unstoppable force that surpasses every western demon. Sadakaya it's something you'll never mess with. Japanese ghosts (Onryos) are on another level.

Never played this game, but had to give this a watch because the premise of it just sounds really fun.

I think they stopped doing the voice over spotlights because they are constantly reworking perks, so most of the perks you see in old spotlights either work completely differently or have had some number tweaked, it's rare for a perk to go untouched for more than a couple of months, especially from a new killer or survivor.

the reason they no longer have voice overs is because apparently from what i've heard was the voice over guy passed from covid.

japanese is actually super easy as far as speaking it is concerned it gets harder the longer it is but they tend to hard stop on vowels so, Sadako would be Sa Da Ko. all their words are pretty much like that in pronunciation wise.

The Onryo, is a type of Japanese Yokai(Demon and or Spirit of Japanese folklore). A type of very powerful and vengeful spirit that in the mythical lore of Japan Yokai , they can LITERALLY kill people with their power. The Onryo are created from those who died from untiming death or murder that struck upon them, legend said that they are so vengeful that they can follow you for eternity until you are dead. At first Sadako wasn't really identify as an Onryo until the original creator of the film (The Japanese one) later state that she is an Onryo, it's make sense since she was killed and her main desire is vengeance upon those who kill her. According to many actual proof that's out there in the record of exorcism (which I don't know which to trust since there are many), to exorcise an Onryo you must be a very powerful and strong will priest to set the spirit free and move on to their next life.

This is why they discontinued VHS tapes. People kept crawling out of wells into everyones tv, what a nuisance

I mean if you think about it Sadako (or whats her name from the Ring) wouldn't physically kill anyone usually in japaneese horror that involves ghosts alot of them use Psychic powers .......truth be told I'm surprised one of her powers isn't the same thing she does in the Ring and Ringu movies where those she kills become her servants ........imagine everytime one of the survivors falls you have a ring zombie shuffling around that doesn't kill you but grabs and holds on to the others making it easier for Sadako to get them.........I'm actually surprised they made a Ring Killer but they haven't used the Blair Witch yet
