The reason Dead Can Dance has these timeless medieval/oriental sound is that Lisa Gerrard clearly is a vampire, as she hasn't aged a bit since the 80's. She's been doing this kind of music probably since ancient egypt or something.

Lisa Gerrard and DCD exist between the veils, timeless, whispering ancient love songs, telling secrets of the mysteries. I had the rare privilege to see them in concert for their "Toward the Within" album in 1994 in Denver, CO. While their music lifts your feet to ancient dances, the solemnity of being in the present of the Sacred, cast a pall of silence over the audience. Never before or since, had I experienced this reverential experience of sharing space with the divine.

I was very fortunate to catch DCD at the Paolo Soleri Amphitheater in Santa Fe NM in 1996 during the ‘Spiritchaser’ tour! OMG Transcendent! They were mesmerizing and I was tranced (no drugs, didn’t/don’t do them). At one point 2/3 of the way through the show with my inner sight I swear I saw an 80’ tall luminescent, bright white Angel standing right behind Lisa, pouring effervescent light into her which was vocalized by Lisa. No words for how beautiful her voice was. Afterwards I asked several people I knew what their experience was and many stated they saw this angel! What an amazing show, forever etched in my memory. Wish I could see them again sometime.

This is Lisa’s best performance that I have seen on KZfaq. Her singing was flawless, the band was flawless, the the overall performance was nothing less than perfection at the highest possibility PERIOD. Lisa’s voice was so authentic, passionate, and real in this performance. And her facial expressions matched the sound. You can tell she has mastered the song and has found in-depth personal level of intimacy with this song. She showed passion that was real and not mechanical as how the other performance look compared to this one. Lisa was actually glowing in this performance. I believe she transcended any personal issue she may or may not had. Bottom line, this performance was heavenly. Lisa and the band nailed it! Lisa looked sooo beautiful in this performance!!!

You'll soon get bored of this song, and fall as much in love with another song , as you did with this one , and then another, and later move on to liking another even better and so on , because a human's heart is restless until it rests in God, like St Augustine said, centuries before all those countries became muslim, by the way.. The God of real love, Jesus God incarnate, came to teach us all what God's love is like; His life , death and resurrection ALL for the sake of mankind proved how immense His heart is , and through that He called you, like He did me (even before we were born) to a real close relation of fellowship with Him ...Besides, better be careful with liking a song way too much, because tomorrow you might listen to Wagner and end up wanting to be a member of Himmler's SS, or a prison guard...and that is no good. The real God is waiting for you to come to His arms and embrace Him ..He's got His arms wide open just ike He did on the cross for the love of you, and for the love of me.
