Pete said in a interview that he never thought that "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" was a going to be a megahit and said it was his studio producer and engineer that were absolutely stunned by the song. They said to the guys of Dead or Alive in the studio, be prepared to be megastars. Even today, after all the remixes of "You Spin....", the song is the absolute anthem of the dance craze of the early 80s to today that got people off their butts and onto the dance floor. :)
